Pakistan Air Force | News & Discussions

Hi, an interesting video. I hope some day the JF-17 uses the WS-19 engine in any future upgrade. It would have commonality with the J35 aircraft, if the PAF buys it.

Upgrading Block 1/2 JF-17s does involve some structural changes and probably changes to electrical components in order to handle an AESA radar and additional sensors/jammers.

Abdurrazaq joined the Airforce?

As reported in AFM (see Understanding the Rafale Kills, October 2025, pages 43-58) one of the key advantages identified by the Pakistanis in their aerial engagements with the Indian Air Force was not only the missile range of their aircraft, but also the deployment of specialised and powerful electronic warfare systems. These systems were effective in jamming the Rafales, neutralising their tactical advantages, and isolating their pilots from both command and fellow wingmen – an impact strong enough to deliver a decisive blow.

Dave Kurtz said: “Electronic Attack, the use of jamming to deny, degrade, or delay guided missile engagements, creates a temporary time and space sanctuary for aircraft to reach weapons release range.

“You wouldn’t be stupid to engage in a dogfight – but you would be dead if you were forced into one and weren’t prepared for it.”

15 June holds an important place in the history of Pakistan Air Force as on this day,15 June 1958, PAF took a pivotal step in advancing its air combat capability with the establishment of the Flight Leaders’ School (FLS) at PAF Base Masroor, Karachi.

The initiative was led by Air Marshal Asghar Khan, the first Pakistani to serve as Commander-in-Chief of PAF, a visionary leader who recognized the strategic importance of tactical and leadership training for fighter pilots.

FLS was established to provide advanced tactical training and leadership grooming to Flight & Squadron Commanders, with a strong emphasis on combat readiness, mission planning and aerial tactics. The legacy of FLS culminated in the establishment of the Combat Commanders’ School (CCS) in 1976 at PAF Base Mushaf.

Today, CCS continues to serve as the cornerstone of combat excellence within the Pakistan Air Force, functioning as an integral component of PAF Aerospace Power Centre of Excellence (ACE), consistently enhancing the tactical proficiency of PAF’s combat crew.

The establishment of FLS and its transformation into CCS reflects PAF’s enduring commitment to Professionalism, Innovation and Strategic Foresight—core values that continue to define its operational superiority in the region.

Hi, I do not know the authenticity of this report. However, is interesting reading to say the least. (Mods, feel free to move it to the another section, if required.)

We have so much Chinese equipment and joint projects this could just be a very routine pick up of spares or orders we already know about. I would really not be surprised if PAF transport planes are in China every other week for some reason or another. The military relationship is so close that we must have many reasons for regular flights

how many Large transport aircraft we have?

nope, C130H's are struggling!
Besides C130's do we have any other options for transport? like any from Europe (if they willing to sell us) or any from China ?

A400M and Y20, as of now we "seem to be" inclined towards IL-76/78
