Bangladesh now faces the sternest test of its 55 year history. You may seek to regard the World Cup issue as an isolated problem, but it is not. It is intimately linked with every other attempt by Delhi to vassalise your qom. You give them an inch, and they will turn you into their property.

All this continues to occur against the backdrop of a convicted Bangladeshi fugitive with blood on her hands being sheltered in Indian territory.

There is little else to say on the matter. The rest is up to Bangladeshis.

All these are your assumptions mostly. How did you come to the conclusion that BCB acted independently when the whole decision appears to be politically motivated and designed to stoke anti India sentiment.

Calling me an Awami stooge is irrelevant. A large number of people in Bangladesh, including many players, share this view. And there is evidence for that.

The Cricketers’ Welfare Association publicly criticised BCB for making a politically motivated decision to boycott the T20 World Cup and for making irresponsible, politically influenced remarks about international players. The backlash was so strong that, in a face saving move, BCB removed that incompetent politically influenced imbecile official from his position and issued a show cause notice.

This shows that neither the players nor genuine cricket supporters supported this decision, except for a small group of politically driven online bots. Fact is, This boycott will likely put BCB under serious financial pressure and could damage the future of Bangladesh cricket.

Point is, the current regime is using cricket to fuel anti India rhetoric after running out of real ideas. Turning Bangladesh into a thorn in India’s side seems to be part of a long-term political agenda. If Bangladesh cricket suffers in the process, they probably won’t care, as cricket development is not their priority as long as they can satisfy their political patrons.

Bangladesh would have been better for the tournament, as we would have put on a far better show than Scotland and might have pulled off some surprises.

But sadly, we decided to shoot ourselves in the foot and foolishly thought that other boards would follow our trait and boycott the T20 tournament. In the end, we were left high and dry, while all the other teams are playing this tournament and earning millions of dollars except us. A sad day for our cricket in general. We feel betrayed.
