This is my point, we are worried about Rafales but a lot of the grunt work is done by SU-30s that could not take on the F-16/AMRAAM combo in 2019 and are still essentially the same planes. No chance against J-10/PL-15 but IAF has no choice but to keep sending these planes up

hypothetically, how many Rafale aircraft would India need to penetrate our air defences and allow bombers to enter and destroy our airbases completely?

and by airbases, I mean most fragile equipment like radars

My reading: if they need 1 or 2 Rafales, then, we will se quick induction of fifth gen. platforms and at higher rates as well

I suggest this is moved to the overall conflict thread

India has very potent planes, technologically better than PAF lot, but lacks a functioning Kill mesh.
For example SU-30 MKI cannot talk to Phalcon AWACS due to to not having Link 16.

Again, I would be careful ... these belly-twin-pylon adapters have so far only been seen on a static specimen at an Air Shown loaded with PL-12!
We have NO INFO SO FAR it is in service already, it is used by Pakistan or if it could also carry two PL-15!

And please ... check the size of a PL-17! that's plain impossible!
everything is impossible until it causes a sharp pain in our enemy's back side, and there is nothing better than keeping quite about our pain phultroo's

Ahh Indians have been so populated and has poluted the whole internet with their IQ 10, How can the rest be saved from these fake/fantasy world of these many modi minions? I wish the whole other world just not respond to them and ignore them completely.

On topic: IF IAF gets 114 Rafale and that too F4/F5 variants, plus their indegenous Astra is a real threat if integrated with their upgraded super MKI @Oscar

Regarding your concerns, I suggest you try playing the game yourself. You'll find the answers there.

If IAF goes for 114 Rafales, especially the F4/F5 standards, that’s a serious short‑term boost. Rafale is already proven, and with upgrades across the fleet, plus Meteor BVRAAM and advanced EW (SPECTRA), it becomes a tough opponent. PAF’s J‑10C and JF‑17 Block III with PL‑15 (~200 km range) help balance the BVR equation, but Rafale’s electronic warfare sophistication will still complicate things.

On the other hand, Su‑57 offers stealth and payload advantages, but it’s still maturing. Export versions may not match Russian domestic ones, and logistics/support are uncertain. If IAF commits to Su‑57 in large numbers, PAF would need to accelerate counter‑stealth measures — low‑frequency radars, passive detection, and long‑range SAMs — while also considering stealth parity through J‑35 acquisition.

We also can’t ignore the “Super Sukhoi” program. Upgraded Su‑30MKIs with AESA radar and Astra BVR missiles add depth to IAF’s fleet. Even without Rafale or Su‑57 expansion, these MKIs remain a persistent headache for PAF.

So for PAF, the path forward is clear but difficult: expand J‑10C numbers, fully operationalize JF‑17 Block III with PL‑15, and seriously consider inducting around 40 J‑35s for stealth parity. Even then, Rafale F4/F5 upgrades and Super Sukhoi modernization mean the challenge will remain significant.

"Air Superiority".........lol what a joke.

I doubt Indians even know what Air Superiority means. Aircraft shot down in own airspace.....couldn't fly without being killed and took 2 days to re-learn tactics that lets desperately try SCALP and Brahmos launches because we have nothing else left.

No, SU30 is far far from air superiority and will get killed by both AIM120 and PL15s the moment it attempts the same again.
