USA Weather Alert and Warnings Thread

That thing has over ten thousand hard miles on it over 13 years, and still serves its purpose very well. I might get a new one to replace it sometime this year or the next. I may keep it just to ride around with my grandkids on their little Hondas around offroad course. May be. My problem is that I have no more room to get more toys. :D
I am looking for motorcycles myself too, i like cruisers like Honda Rebel, Vulcan and Kawasaki Eliminator, roadster from harley, but they are all very heavy bikes, I weight around 150lbs these bikes are more twice my weight, good for road grips but bad for me if i tumble lol but hey if you are driving this for a long time, you must have gotten pretty good with it, also reliability matters too, and must have some good lasting memories. Which model is the bike? i can't tell from the pic.

(I was even pictured on it for a rally in a motorcycle magazine and on Youtube BTW, so I have fond memories of it too.) I might get a new one to replace it sometime this year or the next. I feel your pain.

No shortage of space for me. Been seriously looking into putting a stationary RV near my house which I could move to near the street for 'downsizing' years later, but, related to this thread, a kind of 'backup' home in case some tree falls on the house--I have tall trees on three sides of the house within 50 feet-- and to be also as a guest house. No rush though.

Where I live, there is a range of temps, humidity, warm and cold weather, and absolutely great spring and fall--and even snow. I like crisp cold weather anyway--like this morning it was 11 F / -12 C but bright beautiful sun! It is just the ice which grounds me due to my lack of nerves and skills.
Move out of that sauna, bro!
Bro that -12C is insane, imagine waking up to go to work in that temp, I wish i could show you the outside view from my apartment balcony, its sunny warm and niceeeeeeeee. you need to come visit Tampa, give me a call I will take you to some nice warm spring, dono bhai kayaking karen gay lol don't mind the Gators though hahha

You grew up in a violent Karachi! When I moved out of Karachi, we used to fight over one lone telephone in the house--forget cell phones! But glad you have those skills to protect yourself--might be handy in Rome too! (not Rome, GA but Rome Italy!).
its never bad to be on alert about your surrounding even when you are in a safe area, its one skill that I learn from living in Karachi which comes in handy anywhere.

You do have much comfortable winter that's for sure. But I don't mind my extreme cold as long as sunny and no ice.
And thanks for the offer! I have some friends in Tampa area (St. Pete beach) who have been asking us to go for a visit. Maybe one (winter) day!

Hey we do but it can get cold here too, I mean from Florida standard cold haha we measure cold here with Iguana's, if we see iguana's dropping from trees after freezing its cold hahha
And sure you should come visit, I am planning some vacation this year, not sure where. I have Houston/Austin, Tennessee trip or somewhere in Florida as option. If you come let me know.

@Hamartia Antidote / others:
So Generac as home backup power not good? I hear it is top of the line reliable? Anyone with personal experIence here with Generac working as home backup power?

Whatever you get should have good local dealer support, and also take a look at Kohler units too:

I see, the website is comparing with Generac!

ok out of curiosity, during Hurricane Ian in 2022 which was my first ever experience of Hurricane, I was more excited than scared, then same during Helene/Milton, I was in Tampa for Helene and while my car got flooded and I was in 3 feet under water I was so excited lol, and now when I heard about this whole Artic storm part of me wanted to travel just to see/experience the storm, is that normal behavior or I am crazy and need help?

come on, how can anyone hate this sunshine, comfy weather :) @Meengla @AZ_HighCountry @VCheng @Davey Crockett

That's a lovely, inviting pic. Certainly better than I was just out to the shed to get some birdseed to spread on the deck and despite me creating some paths on the ice yesterday, it was treacherously slippery. One fall... A friend's uncle was brain dead falling on icy sidewalk! That story has put the fear of God in me! Now I walk like I am 250 year old on ice. Haha.

Nothing wrong with seeing some arctic storm but enjoying your car getting flooded? Yup, crazy!!

Funnier fact, when i came out of apartment and as soon i reached my car its alarm going crazy, it died right in front of me. I was up to my thighs in water. mind you I am 6'2 so you can imagine the water, also dirty water hahah but I played in Karachi's dirty road water all my life, this Florida dirty water ain't gonna take me out but what really have me alarm when i saw something floating in water, it was dark with no power little light, It struck me that Florida has gators, and I can't see shih in water so might as well get out haha but i was super excited the whole time hhaha
