Yes, it will have to be propane because we can't run a natural gas line to the house due to the distance. VERY expensive, as told to me by a local NG provider. Since yesterday, I have started to look into Generac.

I would read reviews. It seems generators are #2 behind snowblowers in terms of always failing to start.

i had this Generac portable generator for Y2K

This thing probably never ran for 15 minutes during its entire life as it was just a pain to start and have run for more than a minute...and this was supposed to be one of the most reliable generators you could buy. I even rebuilt the carb. Yes, I put Stable in the gas tank.

That is why generators have a periodic self-start cycle all around the year to keep everything ready to run when needed, unlike snowblowers that remain dormant for long periods of time.

The guy in the house behind me has a natural gas one that starts up every Wednesday at 8am. It's a GE one too that I think is for the military. He worked for GE.

Hmm...this might be it..can't see it because he put it behind a fence.
Seems to reliably come on every week for at least the last 8 years.

Nice! A few years back, I took my Infiniti G35 out for a drift in the snow through the subdivision. Several minutes later, a Volkswagen Jetta joined. To this day, he and I are best friends, united in the snow. :ROFLMAO:

OMG, what human beings can adapt to and still @Starlord keeps suffering the perpetual sauna of FL?!! ;)
hey man at least I can go out chill at some nice beach, its 51F now @2:12 pm. I don't even have proper clothing for extreme cold haha have you see cost of Leather jackets at Macy's or Dillards ?

Some of those Karachi boys are a little tougher than others.
Idk about the weather but we are definitely more aware of our surrounding give the high mobile snatching in Karachi, every time I am walking anywhere in Tampa i am always alert lol even though i know I wont be getting robbed but its old habits hah

It's all about the outerwear. Winters have a lot to offer once you get that right.

Lived through -37 C for years without layering. That's without windchill.

Not as romantic as logs but bio bricks burn a bit longer. Throw in some chips or logs for the scent. Great for hot tents if you don't mind lugging them in.
Bro Canada is insane, my uncle who lives in Milton uploads pictures outside his house in winters and the amount of snow he had to clear is insane, y'all must have been secretly penguins at this point (no offense) haha

I'll add to this. During one of my trips to ORD, happened to notice the weather for ANC. My oldest daughter lives there. When it was 0F in ORD, it was 35F in ANC. The benefit of the warm currents coming into the bay.
Florida starting to seems more and more like a home, like there are days when i go out and if i close my eyes it almost feel like hot just as Karachi was, American snow storms are getting super crazy, I mean now where I live, I am safe from hurricanes, flooding etc but even a Cat 4 hurricane is survivable but these snow storms are just crazy, someone posted around 80+ people die, that is a very high number (RIP).

Bro please update your motorcycle, still a bada$$ pic with snow all around you.

That thing has over ten thousand hard miles on it over 13 years, and still serves its purpose very well. (I was even pictured on it for a rally in a motorcycle magazine and on Youtube BTW, so I have fond memories of it too.) I might get a new one to replace it sometime this year or the next. I may keep it just to ride around with my grandkids on their little Hondas around offroad course. May be. My problem is that I have no more room to get more toys. :D

Where I live, there is a range of temps, humidity, warm and cold weather, and absolutely great spring and fall--and even snow. I like crisp cold weather anyway--like this morning it was 11 F / -12 C but bright beautiful sun! It is just the ice which grounds me due to my lack of nerves and skills.
Move out of that sauna, bro!

You grew up in a violent Karachi! When I moved out of Karachi, we used to fight over one lone telephone in the house--forget cell phones! But glad you have those skills to protect yourself--might be handy in Rome too! (not Rome, GA but Rome Italy!).

@Hamartia Antidote / others:
