Man our Army aviation pilots are so good at flying the Cobra's. I wish we could get our hands on the AH-1Z Vipers, because our pilots would rock in those.

AH-1Z's are history now. Time to move on from both the T129 and AH-1Zs. The next decision point is either the T-929 or WZ-21's if a larger heavy is still appropriate in the India/Pakistan equation of course.

Lol, Airwolf the dream of all 80's military fan boys.
Mind you the US never came out with a copter like that, although the 'Comanche' was close.

I always wonder, Pakistan military has a history of flying choppers like Cobra and even experience doing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), what's stopping them from manufacturing their own attack choppers? (even if its light attack helicopters). I know for certain there will be a an engine problem, which Pakistan doesn't have the skills and machinery tools to develop complex engines, but they can outsource them from China or Turkey etc. Can't Pakistan develop the airframe and blades?

Same reasons why we never made anything out of the deep domestic support base we built for the Mirage III/5. Lack of policy will, lack of underlying industrial base for alloys, a lack of R&D-centric aerospace organizations, etc.

Can't Pakistan develop the airframe and blades?
Can Pakistan independently manufacture disposable lighters?
Can Pakistan independently manufacture common plastic garbage bags?
Can Pakistan independently manufacture a bullet?
......

You can try using any AI tool to deeply analyze these "simple questions" for you. You will get the answers you want.

So many missed opportunities. Very unfortunate.

Afaik Pakistan only has experience of licensed working on the airframe and electrics of cobras which is not nearly equatable to ability to design own helicopter. Secondly both turkey and china themselves struggle with procuring helicopter engines that can meet the requirements of an attack helo. Besides why would china want to help us when they can easily make us a helicopter customised to our requirements

Can China survive without copying US innovations?
