Really impressed with how great leaps our local public as well as private defense companies have taken within such a relatively short time period.

It is official. The Jasser suicide drone, produced by SERB Company, is in service with the Saudi Arabian naval forces.

World Defense Show 2026 – SAMI Land unveils HEET 4×4 and HEET 8×8

08/02/2026

Paolo Valpolini

Two brand new vehicles were unveiled in the late afternoon of Day 1 at the World Defense Show, which was inaugurated in Riyadh on 8

The late unveiling prevented us from gathering more information than what was available on the screens. The HEET 8×8 is fitted with a turret armed with a 105 mm gun. According to the company it is equipped with and advanced protection suite, its modularity allowing to adapt it to various missions. The late event prevented us, or the time being, from acquiring detailed information

The same is true for the HEET 4×4, a much smaller vehicle, which is designed for security and defence operations.

Both vehicles feature and ample front windscreen, with two lateral additions, which provides a full 180° to the driver and commander.

More to come …

As I was strolling through the exhibition, the legendary Bogdana howitzer caught my eye! And during my conversation with the booth organizers, they confirmed to me that Saudi TET Technology Company has officially begun the steps to sign a contract for localizing the howitzer and manufacturing it within the Kingdom.

The Bogdana howitzer is considered a self-propelled artillery systemto NATO standards and 155 mm caliber, transforming from a mere prototype into one of the most important pillars of strength for the Ukrainian army during the war

.A major step on the path to localizing the defense industries. Something to hold your head high about.

- The Ukrainian Bogdana howitzer was "born from the womb of suffering," as they say... After being trapped in drawers and Ukrainian bureaucracy, it emerged like a giant during the Russian war and became the primary artillery weapon despite the presence of the French Caesar, the Swedish Archer, the Czech DITA, and other howitzers

- The Bogdana howitzer deserves the primary credit after God for liberating Snake Island (Zmiinyi Island) after the Caesar howitzers failed, suffering from lack of maintenance and harsh war conditions, rendering them unable to fire, while Bogdana continued until the island was freed.

- Today, Bogdana reigns supreme worldwide in the 155 mm caliber, after Caesar had previously swept the field in this category.

- An astonishing and major success if the story is true that the howitzer will be localized domestically, and that we will own this system that combines Eastern and Western technologies, born in war until it honed its capabilities.

- Quick summary of its capabilities: It fires up to 6 rounds per minute up to a range of 60 km, and despite all its capabilities, it is one of the cheapest systems in its class and the most efficient.

Amazing, by God, Al-Kharif Company!

Al-Kharif Company is expanding even more into industrial projects.

Today we were surprised to learn that they are entering a project to manufacture components of the Korkut turret.

The turret is equipped with a high-pressure 105 mm gun and is compatible with NATO standards. It is capable of firing armor-piercing rounds as well as high-explosive ones. It also has a unique capability to elevate the gun up to +42 degrees, which allows it to function as indirect-fire artillery with a range of up to 10 km, or to engage drones.

The Korean Air-Launched Cruise Missile (KALCM) from LIG Nex1

The KALCM's warhead is designed to be a "bunker-penetrating" missile capable of penetrating deep targets:

Range: Approximately 500-800 kilometers.

Warhead Weight: 450 kg (approximately 1,000 lbs), while the total missile weight is 1,360 kg.

Warhead Type: Equipped with a tandem warhead (Tandem Penetrator); the first charge penetrates the outer casing or obstacles, and then the main warhead detonates inside the target.

Penetration Capability: Can penetrate up to 8 meters of reinforced concrete, making it highly effective against underground command centers.

Guidance System: Employs a hybrid system incorporating inertial navigation (INS), global navigation satellite system (GNSS), and infrared (IIR) guidance to ensure an accuracy of up to 1.5 meters. Main platforms: Originally developed for the KAI KF-21 Boramae fighter jet, but successful tests have already been conducted using the KAI FA-50 Fighting Eagle light fighter jet.
