My personal take is, establishment and the govt doesn't want this mess on their hands, and they believe IK is sufficiently taken up by his health matter that he won't do any agitation, or they'll keep it managed. That was the only fear apprehension the govt had previously, and IK wasn't amenable to staying quiet.

So what can possibly be more credible than a report to the Supreme Court filed by the amicus curae appointed for IK by the Supreme Court itself? If your level of disbelief is so high, then there is no solution possible. Your mind is already made up no matter what the actual facts.
