Well that's the whole point. Panama, Venezuela and now Iran is to make sure China goes thirsty when it starts any provocation with Taiwan. US wants to make sure that China buys oil from friendly countries it can control like Venezuela, Arab states and soon Iran.

The Panama mentioned is getting back control of the canal.

However, nobel the cause. Iran going down in the history books as the only middle eastern country to actively attempt to stop Israeli expansion and normalization in the world ended up costing Iran its own prosperity. The Arabs gave up a long time ago.

The sad thing is Iran doesn’t even have energy resources to give.

Most of natural gas is consumed by it citizens at heavily subsidized rates and same goes for oil. Increasing outputs in both will take years.

Ironically, the first thing Israel/US will force Iran is too remove the energy subsidies that Iranians have taken for granted.

Why sell gasoline or natural gas for cents on the dollar when you can export it and make a 5-10x?

In the end the average Iranian will suffer from this short term capitalistic policy. But hey that’s the cost of “freedom”.
