It's not really about who drops what tonnage. It's all about who can survive and what is that threshold for either parties. Iran's only option is to cause maximum damage. The escalation ladder isn't like the previous Israeli Iranian war last year. Iran needs to ensure as many American assets in the region are damaged as quickly as possible with the hope that the regional Powers primarily the US seeks de-escalation.
