Hi,

America is Iran's primary enemy---so Iran did what they did---.

Pakistan's primary enemy is India---we did what we needed to do with them.

USA did not attack pakistan---US did not have any issue with pakistan---there was no war scenario between pakistan and USA.

We are a nation state---. We are not Afghanistan's saviours---.

Afganistan sacrificed ins nationals for a foreign terrorist OBL---.

The same OBL---when innocent afghans were dying from american bombs---he was FK_NG his 14 years old vir-gin yemeny bride---.

Pakistan had two options , either make some ugly alliance or get attacked by USA+ India holding hands together .
USA had no demands from Pakistan, they wanted a face saving from Afghanistan by asking the Talibunnies to handover OBL .
Musharraf sent many envoys to Kabul literally begging Talibunnies to handover just one man OBL to USA and have a war and bloodshed evaded.
The Charas heads refused and basically gave the middle finger to the USA, and then expected Pakistan to save them by Pakistan blocking US attacks on Afghanistan.
Musharraf found no reason to put Pakistan and Pakistani military in harms way for the sake of a stupid knuckle head Afghanistan, who knew no diplomacy .
So i find it very justified that he allowed USA to use Pakistani air space , land routes and a few air bases against Afghanistan.
I did not want to die for the AFghanis, and possibly you would not either.

I also think Mr Musharraf took the right decision after 9/11. The Taliban/Alqaeda combo proved too combustible, blew up and had to be disposed off.

What I object to however is Mr Musharraf reviving the Taliban in the subsequent years and Pakistan playing a double game till 2021, when the Taliban seized Kabul.

Why could they not have learned from 9/11 and just moved on ? Now Pakistan is in the same place in Afghanistan it was on Sept 10th, 2001.

The main culprit was Kiyani---. Musharraf just took the blame.

Behind the scenes Pakistan is also reviving the Farsi baan for toppling the Taliban.
Until the Bachay baaz learn some diplomacy and how to run their country , many foreign powers will keep manipulating them, Pakistan included.

i would argue that was also a correct or alteast in good spirits ,

we probbaly knew US will leave us in a mess again so we did not cutoff communication with taliban incase that happened

Because Taliban regime in the 90s was the only Afghan regime that was friendly towards Pakistan since independence, Remember Afghanistan was supposed to be a quick in and out war where they get OBL and they get out.

But they found themselves nation building, even many analysts back then were predicting the Afghan government to fall quickly incase of a US withdrawal and especially after a renewed Taliban insurgency.

Americans are some point were going to leave so It absolutely made sense to support the Taliban if it meant getting back a friendly Regime in power in Kabul but ofcourse that backfired as the Taliban of today isn't the one of the 90s.

I don't understand how anyone can claim that the Taliban from the 90s were friendly to Pakistan. They were just as unruly, hard head and extremist. They gave shelter to sectarian terrorists that were wanted by Pakistan and refused to extradite. They also gave shelter to Alqaeda. They would execute people found guilty of their weird Sharia in stadiums in front of the public. They refused to listen to any plea from Pakistan after 9/11 to give up OBL and abandon Alqaeda.
