Three dead in UAE, defence ministry says, as nearly 700 missiles and drones downed
Since Iran started its retaliatory strikes yesterday, thousands of missiles and drones have been seen across the region.
In an update, the United Arab Emirates' defence ministry says it is still on high alert, but that it has succeeded in taking down close to 700 projectiles from Iran.
It said its air defences have downed or destroyed:
- 152 ballistic missiles
- 2 cruise missiles
- 506 drones
The ministry added that three people had died, from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
It added in the statement that "some debris fell in scattered areas of the country as a result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles and drones, leading to minor and moderate material damage in a number of civilian properties".
