A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Monday said China does not recognize the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh" illegally set up by India.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks when asked to comment on the report that India issued on August 7 the "standard names" of 27 locations in the so-called "Arunachal Pradesh."

"Zangnan region is China's territory," Guo said, adding that India's move of attempting to replace names long used by China with its so-called "standard names" is illegal, null and void. Still less will it change the fact that Zangnan region belongs to China, he noted.

New Delhi has issued names for 27 locations in Arunachal Pradesh on its official maps, including sensitive sites near the disputed border with China, in a move that an analyst warned could complicate efforts to repair bilateral ties.

The Indian government announced the move on Friday, just a day after officials from the two countries held a working-level consultation in New Delhi to discuss border management and reaffirm the need for peace along the Line of Actual Control.

Beijing has long referred to the northeastern border state as Zangnan, or southern Tibet.

In a statement, India’s Ministry of Home Affairs said the Survey of India had issued standard names for the locations to ensure “accurate recognition” and improve public awareness of their geographical and historical significance.

The list includes 21 land areas, four mountain passes, a high-altitude lake and a memorial. The names have been added to official Survey of India maps.

Among them are Longju, a village that was the scene of a 1959 border confrontation, as well as the nearby villages of Maja and Bisa and the high-altitude Thag La, the strategic pass where the 1962 border war between India and China erupted.

China should launch the ground invasion and get this over with.

Indian news reports have indeed covered recent China-India standoffs, but they haven’t mentioned any Indian deaths.

From my understanding, mainland China tends to resolve territorial disputes, especially land border disputes, through negotiations and diplomatic agreements.

Of course, unless India once again takes some irrational and foolish military action first.

Just take it back, it's about time. Actions speak louder than words.

Before 1979, state-owned restaurants in China often had signs that read "禁止殴打顾客(No staff beating customers)" because such incidents occurred frequently. Do you think the restaurants of that era were ridiculous? We also find restaurants from that era quite ridiculous now.

Currently, India has an annual trade deficit of $110 billion with China.

Changing maps on paper, Changing village names on the paper, try to do incusrsions in unguarded areas all this shows a frustration of mighty Chinese who are talking to take on USA 🇺🇸.....

Go ahead and don't recognize arunachal pradesh as an Indian territory.... as long as Chinese need visa to enter arunachal pradesh we care to hoots to these cheap daily dramas. .....

The warning power strikes again. You think you can invade a treacherous mountainous slope with deep forests, at least the Russians had flat plains despite losing half million Russians in the meat grinder. They could at least see the drones coming at them.

What's the point of fighting over that useless piece of land other than stupid nationalist pride?

Why France has so many disputes of "useless" islands and lands that are far way from it with so many countries, lol ? What are Chinese lands are just Chinese lands no matter how difficult the terrains are, just that simple.

Major Island and Territorial Disputes with France
    • Matthew Island and Hunter Island: Claimed by both France (as part of New Caledonia) and Vanuatu. Vanuatu filed a case against France at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in September 2026 after bilateral talks reached an impasse. [1, 2, 3, 4]
    • Mayotte: The Union of the Comoros claims sovereignty over the island of Mayotte, which is an overseas department of France. [1, 2]
    • Adélie Land (Antarctica): France asserts a territorial claim in Antarctica, which is subject to the international freeze under the Antarctic Treaty System. [1, 2]
    • French Guiana – Suriname Border: There is a minor territorial/boundary dispute regarding the exact border between the French overseas department of French Guiana and Suriname.

Time is on our side, we are not in a hurry. And the annual deficit of hundreds of billions of dollars is equivalent to every Indian paying us a tribute of $100. As far as I know, the tax revenue of that place is only $300 million per year, while the government's fiscal expenditure is $4.2 billion per year.

We have time to wait for the fruit to ripen. Because it is contrary to India's fantasy, the power gap between the two countries is widening.

France is an ex-colonial power that misses its empire status.

Thanks to India for giving China a trade surplus every year, and that surplus keeps growing.

The money India contributes will be used to strengthen the PLA and buy every single bullet to be used against India....
