▲▲▲ This is an official notice issued by a local government in the Xizang Autonomous Region. The entry requirements are generally as follows:

◉ Foreign nationals cannot enter the Xizang Autonomous Region freely. They must obtain a "Tibet Travel Permit (入藏函)" through an authorized travel agency and travel on an organized tour. Independent travel is not permitted.

◉ Zangnan is a disputed China‑India border area. It is closed to tourism and inaccessible even with a Tibet Travel Permit.

◉ Taiwan residents are subject to the same Tibet entry requirements as foreign nationals.

◉ Mainland Chinese residents can enter ordinary areas of the Xizang Autonomous Region with their national ID cards. However, a separate "Border Pass (边防证)" is required to enter designated border areas.

You can visit beautiful Arunachal Pradesh without much hassle, with flights from major Indian cities. I’m planning to take the kids there next April. Some of my staff are from there too. They also speak Hindi, which I don’t.

By the way, does China issue entry permits for Gondor too? 😂

According to AI research, India also has a special entry permit system....

This system mainly applies to foreign nationals. Even if foreign visitors hold a valid Indian visa, they still need to obtain additional permits to visit certain areas, as listed below:

◉ Arunachal Pradesh: The entire state
◉ Nagaland: The entire state
◉ Mizoram: The entire state
◉ Manipur: The entire state (permit requirements for foreign nationals were reinstated in December 2024)
◉ Sikkim: Special entry regulations apply throughout the state, with additional protected-area restrictions in certain areas.
◉ Andaman and Nicobar Islands: The entire territory is classified as a Restricted Area, but designated tourist destinations are open to visitors.
◉ Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand: Certain areas only.

By the way, does China issue entry permits for Gondor too? 😂

You shall not pass!
Even Gandalf knows that some regions in India have entry restrictions....:sneaky:

BTW, Modi and India's Hindus should restore the Babri Masjid and return it to India's Muslims....

In the official statements of the Chinese government, South Tibet is considered part of China. However, we acknowledge that the region is currently under illegal Indian occupation. ------ China’s strategy regarding this area is one of gradual encroachment—a "salami-slicing" approach—rather than a direct, all-out military offensive.

To put it more plainly:
China leverages India’s policy toward China, as well as the stark disparity in actual national power between the two sides. Whenever India makes a provocative move, China responds by advancing just a little bit further—never too much, but enough to make a difference. Following this, China immediately rolls out infrastructure development to consolidate the territory it has reclaimed and to progressively strengthen its defensive lines.
Once China completely overcomes the limitations of mountainous terrain and efficiently connects its infrastructure network, its truly powerful offensive will begin.
China has established a new village, Luowa, south of the McMahon Line—within the territory that India claims as the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The area is now firmly under control, and ordinary Chinese citizens can travel there as tourists. Should India continue to provoke China, more such areas will inevitably emerge.

1. Residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau do not require a "Tibet Travel Permit" to visit Tibet. For residents of Taiwan, however, the permit is currently still required. For Taiwanese compatriots, this measure is still in effect for now. However, China is currently exploring the possibility of canceling this measure for Taiwanese compatriots holding a "Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents of the People's Republic of China" traveling to Tibet.

2. A "Border Pass" is not specific to the border regions of Tibet; rather, it applies to all border areas in China. In the past—before the handover of Hong Kong—we even needed one to travel to Shenzhen.
