Right.
But if the Lebanese have any sense of common sense and understanding of their history from the 80s onwards, then they should know that Israel would have held onto southern Lebanon had it not been for Hezbollah.
So what is more important for a country: Bombs falling into their neighborhoods or losing a chunk of fertile, strategic land to Israel permanently?
To Lose, or not to be Lose, That is the Question.

Nope, Russia was too interested in upholding the western led sanctions on Iran and even after coming under heavy western sanctions themselves they dragged their feet in supplying equipment that had been already paid for by Iran. As for the Chinese equipment I guess the Iranian Brass fell for the western propaganda that it was no good and only realized their mistake after the May 2025 skirmishes and by then it was too late to purchase, train on and integrate into their forces (this was a lost chance). Because of the sanctions no country was willing to sell anything meaningful to Iran.

stupid mistake, unless they are ready for full-fledged and endless war
 
Once Hezbollah joined the war, strikes on Israel are far more important, take out air defenses and missile stockpile and hit military targets and airstrips.
