J-10CE Vigorous Dragon/Firebird

J-10CE was developed in the 2020s as the export variant of J-10C. Its first customer is Pakistani AF who needs an advanced fighter aircraft to counter the Indian AF's Rafale. A contract of 20 was signed in June 2021. In February 2022 that the first batch of J-10CEs (01 batch, S/N 22-1xx) ordered by PAF was undergoing test flight at CAC. The aircraft features an AESA radar, a JF-17 style light/medium gray camouflage, new UHF/VHF antennas, and a narrow frame wide angle holographic HUD. It is also powered by a WS-10B turbofan engine but without the dorsal datalink antenna. It was reported that the first batch of six J-10CEs (101-106) was delivered on March 4, 2022, each armed with 2 PL-10E and 4 PL-15E AAMs. The aircraft can also carry a variety of precision guided weaponry including the new CM-400AKG supersonic ASM/AShM and IREK anti-radiation glide bomb. The pilot has been equipped with HMDS to enhance his situation awareness. Additional 6 were reportedly delivered in September 2022. Images released in August 2022 indicated that the a few J-10CEs carry a new dark green/light blue color scheme, probably for the maritime attack role carrying C-802A or CM-400AKG AShMs. All remaining J-10CEs (23-1xx) are expected to be delivered by 2023. In November 2024 it was rumored that a new batch of J-10CE was built. The aircraft can carry a YINGS-IIIA designation pod and have a twin missile pylons (slightly staggered) mounted underneath the centerline station carrying two SD-10A or PL-15E AAMs. It was reported that J-10CE scored its first air-to-air kills on May 7, 2025 when it likely shot down multiple IAF fighter aircraft with the PL-15E long-range AAM over Kashmir. The downed aircraft may include Rafale, Su-30MKI and Mirage 2000. This victory, if confirmed, could significantly boost it export prospect on the international market. Several countries including Bangladesh, Uzbekistan and Indonesia have also showed strong interests in J-10CE. A recent image (April 2025) suggested that the J-10CE 02 batch is being constructed at CAC for an unspecified foreign customer (Uzbekistan?). The latest rumor (October 2025) claimed that the initial batch of 24 ordered by the Uzbekistani AF is ready for delivery.

I have seen rigid forums die due to this. AFM, PakDef, etc.

But sure let’s read the old Huitong article again and watch the J10 photos already seen a billion times.
Enjoy
