I dislike Assad but I was in the camp of avoiding the destruction of Syria in a civil war. The thing is most Syrians did not like the Assads because they were ruthless dictators. It’s up to the Syrian people to decide not me or you.

Thank you. And 15 year on PDF to prove that. I had even annoyed some Turkish members here over Turkey's policy on Syria shortly after the war against Syria began in 2011 because I saw that toppling Assad was basically an Israeli agenda.
While you and I may differ on what should have happened in Syria, I believe as long as Erdogan and/or his ideology reigns in Turkey, the enhanced Syrian presence is a threat to Israel and one could look up Naftali Bennet's video where he even said 'Turkey is the new Iran'.
Mr. Bennet was Israel's PM not long ago and is the likely successor to Netanyahu, so his words are to be taken very seriously.
As to those above saying Turkey is in some bind because of its loans: Pakistan has been indebted to IMF programs and with a really weak economy but that still didn't stop Pakistan from challenging the Americans for 20 years in Afghanistan since 2001.

I think if anything this war and every israeli/amerikkkan incursions into foreign countries have taught us is that your air defence system is as equally important as having nukes as a deterrence.

take a look at the gulf countries air defense ( thaad systems) have been destroyed in UAE and Jordan.
not to mention the gap in israel .. a lot of missiles and drones reach their targets.

No one is saying that, you have to learn to navigate the geopolitical game instead of making threats when you actually do not have the capabilities to make good on them.

I partially agree with you. I credit most of Israel’s success to the willingness of Muslim world to rather fight sectarian wars than their real enemy. As I said, Israelis have been blessed by having mentally retarded tribal enemies.
