It's usually been quite the opposite.

However, I do caveat that with the unpredictable nature of the new American regime. For this regime, middle eastern conflict is to be perceived through the lens of judeo-christian rapture and armageddon, for which "divinely ordained victory" may need to be "marketed" in a novel way. This new informational paradigm does indeed raise the possibility that major losses (e.g. of jets or ships) would need hiding, for optics.
So the jury remains open on these F15 losses.
