I think Saudis knew about this attack on Iran a long time ago and made moves to protect themselves. This includes the defense pact with Pakistan, the fake outreach to Tehran when KBS visited and also the Kabuki theatre of Saudi and Israel being at loggerheads over Gaza.

We still don't know for what reason Saudis gave $2 billion to Jared Kushner.
