it is impressive that despite weeks/months of undeclared US strikes against air defence targets in Qeshm, air defences there remain active and are downing a $20-30 million US UCAV drone near Qeshm almost every day.

hopefully the air defence situation over the rest of the country, particularly the missile bases, is at least as good as it is in Qeshm.

Hopefully not. Because Qeshm and the coastline air defense isn’t “good”. jets and drones are bombing them routinely including launchers and AD systems.

Also it’s much easier to shoot down decoy drones and slow propeller based defenseless MALE flying at 20,000 using 358 like munitions. Even the Hezbollah can do that. Go look at how many MALE they shot down in South Lebanon.

That doesnt mean you can target a fighter jet employing counter measures and heavy EW by AWACS and support planes and the pods on the jets themselves.

Iran’s airspace is still exposed and borderline defenseless to any 5th gen aircraft.

Is it me or is odd they’re reporting an attack by American military so quickly and not trying to hush it up I hope the Iranians wait till they announce new leadership in Israel first not saying it will be a better situation but I just want that piece of gone and forgotten

No they were not. You think a hellfire missile is going to do damage to a missile base? Maybe you are referring to launchers being target?

Many missile bases were targeted by bombers like B-1 and stand off munitions fired from fighter jets.

They are not trying to get past Qeshm. They targeting Iranian drone and CM launchers firing on shipping. The decoy drones iran has recently been drowning can’t go further than 100KM. So they certainly aren’t trying to get into Iran. They probing Iranian defenses to map so fighter jets and drone operators are aware when engaging launchers on the ground.

Most U.S. drones fly from Jordan. If they wanted to penetrate deeper into Iran they would come from the Iraqi border and Azeribaijan area where defenses are lower.

That’s still goes to show you how easy it is to down MALE drones if a severely constrained militia like Hezbollah can do it.
