Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

UN expert warns oil price shocks could cause ‘global devastation’

Balakrishnan Rajagopal, the UN special rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, has expressed concern over oil price shocks causing school closures in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

“All due to the illegal Iran war,” he wrote in a post on LinkedIn.

He said he was also worried by “historical parallels”.

Rajagopal noted that oil price rises in the 1970s in the Middle East led to “massive borrowing” by developing countries. The borrowing, “accompanied by US stagflation, a global recession and high interest rates” caused a debt crisis with developing countries unable to service their loans, he wrote.

This scenario “sounds eerily possible” again, Rajagopal said.

“Global devastation ahead unless this war ends soon,” he added.

I hate when people state the obvious

Israel has lost escalation dominance. They essentially just come back and bomb Tehran every night. Their AF maybe fatigued from these operations due to longer distances.

Iran I'm noticing is starting to gain escalation dominance over entire situation and this is leaving US and Israel in a dilemma.

Trump has no idea what he wants to do. It seems Israel lobby forced his hand.

Netanyahu is not sure either. Israel can try regaining escalation dominance by assassinating the new SL, but that would guarantee an intensified Iranian response and more hard-line position on war.

It just looks like US and Israel are privately consulting and can't make up their minds how to climb down from escalation ladder or if they choose escalation, in what way to do so.

Iran doesn't have incentive to stop. It has some degree of control over oil prices and doesn't have to do much more than fire some drones at tankers and at GCC. It can do this all year long and probably won't allow region to truly stabilize unless US gives sanctions relief. Iranians have not much to lose and have suffered 40 years of sanctions, they probably don't mind a longer war if it brings bigger results in the end.
Your analysis makes a lot of sense.

If Iran can absorb the devastating bombs and preserve enough supply chains to feed its military requirements - and that is a big "if" - then Iran can wage low intensity remote war coupled with Strait closure to achieve its war aims (survival of Regime and weapons programme +/- nuclear advancement). The long term cost will be too high for USA-Israel.

To be fair, this is Iran's only option though, with the exception of one possible gamble - provoking a USA ground invasion and hoping they can repel it. It's no easy option though as such ground forces have a massive tech edge over the Iranians also.

You have no idea, and most likely you would not understand, and it has nothing to do with that buffoon Netanyahu,
At the mere mention of Pakistan by any Zionist leader, Pakistan starts sabre rattling with nuclear threats.

Zion is today bombing Iran like there's no tomorrow, and you're telling us that Iran actually has nuclear weapons which they are maybe saving for a rainy day when Iran is facing total annihilation (like today).

It's like Robert Mugabe once said, "If you are ugly, you are ugly. Stop talking about inner beauty, men don't walk around with X-rays to see inner beauty".

The Simpsons cartoon, in the early 2000s, predicted that by the end of the Trump administration, the US and the world would be in a brutal economic crisis.
