Capitol Hill Briefing: US Military Faces Iranian Drone ProblemIran's drone operations, which the US is powerless to counter, are sparking growing panic at the Pentagon. In just one week of conflict with Iran, the US lost three expensive radar stations in Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, along with up to four sets of scarce THAAD air defense systems.Rebuilding the radar stations in Qatar and Bahrain will take at least five to eight years. Moreover, given the declining technical expertise of Pentagon contractors year by year, this assumes rebuilding is even feasible. A single THAAD system costs as much as $3 billion to produce, with a manufacturing cycle stretching several years.
