Good luck holding a 20KM little island right next to Iran and with the strait closed. Iran will just divert the oil to Jask or another terminal.

The reason it likes using Kharg is for VLCCs can easily berth. But during an existential war that isn’t a priority.

I said land invasion referencing boots on the ground.

Point still stands. It would be stupid and they would be sitting ducks on a tiny island and be worse off than than the Russian paratroopers
at Hostomel airport.

Kharg is a flat barren piece of land entirely made to load oil on the largest oil tankers in the world that can’t come close to shore due to the shallow depth of the Persian Gulf.

It would be dumb to take it if the strait is still closed and navy ships are sitting 400KM away.

With what Iran has accumulated... the primary objective should be to make every airport inoperable... or at least make it hostile work space. In fact none of the zionist bases should be operational... if they need to saturate something to relieve some pressure on the home front ... that is the way to go...
Unfortunate for them with lack off or because of out dated AD they cannot do much at the home front... the defense here is managing offense... by narrowing down options... operational corridors, stretching supply lines.
