The Marine deployment is most likely for posturing; that amount can take Kharg Island, but as I said in my previous post, taking the island creates more problems than the US wants, and not for a big gain. If not, they are probably looking at something to monitor the coast with those Marines dynamically. Probably run some interdiction mission along the Strait.

Seems these guys will be infiltrating Iran afterall.Whilst the world's attention has been drawn on RAF Fairford the British base that is hosting the fleet of 15 bombers from America. Another base is secretly quietly doing work that may not be grabbing attention of the press but is equally worthy of scrutiny and monitoring.
I started monitoring traffic at RAF Mildenhall for the past 1 week or so due to a really interesting aircraft landing there from RAF Fairford.
This base dates back to the second world war is home to a very special unit from the USAF. The 352d Special Operations Wing. The 352nd Wing serves as the focal point for all U.S. Air Force special operations activities throughout the European theater for U.S. European Command (USEUCOM), as well as Africa for U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) and Southwest Asia and the Middle East for U.S. Central Command.
The wing is prepared to conduct a variety of high priority, low-visibility missions supporting U.S. and allied special operations forces during peacetime, joint operations exercises, and combat operations.
It trains and performs special operations primarily in the USEUCOM and USAFRICOM area of operations, including establishing air assault landing zones, controlling close air support by strike aircraft and gunships, and providing trauma care for wounded and injured personnel.
For the past few days, a group of very special C130 was captured flying around the UK around the time the RAF opened base access for US bombers to initiate operations at RAF Fairford:

What makes this aircraft so important is that it is this version of the C130 named "The Commando II" flies clandestine, or low visibility, single or multiship, low-level infiltration, exfiltration and resupply of special operations forces, by airdrop or airland and air refueling missions for special operations helicopters and tiltrotor aircraft, intruding politically sensitive or hostile territories. The MC-130J primarily flies missions at night to reduce probability of visual acquisition and intercept by airborne threats. Its secondary mission includes the airdrop of leaflets.

Why this is important to consider is that these aircraft are picked in the UK on ADS before going transponder off - They can next be picked at Rammstine Airbase in Germany with different callsigns and spoofed registration numbers

These aircraft are unique because they often fly with taped serials (meaning you are unable to make out the registration/tail numbers), they can fly low enough to be undetected to radar and have the ability to refuel special forces helicopters in the air. They will go transponder off and Silent when exiting friendly territory and are equipped with the super-secret Silent Knight Radar.
What makes the Silent Knight Radar so special is that it is an advanced, low-probability-of-detection/interception (LPI/LPD) multi-mode radar designed for U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). It enables helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft—including the MH-47G, MH-60M, and CV-22—to fly safely at low altitudes (100–1,000 ft) in adverse weather and high-threat environments.

As the war drags on, with no immediate end in sight-military observers and analysts have been hearing rumors of a possible military infiltration of Iran, the recent block flights of these highly specialized and secretive aircraft leaving the UK and operating in EUCOM (US European Command) AOR is a concerning and development.

What makes this helicopter important and worthy to monitor is that it is reserved for Special Operations Forces. The Blackhawk in question is assigned to the 2_211th Army Aviation Wing Utah Air National Guard and specializes in lift and support for Special Forces.
