Operation Ghazab Lil Haq (Pakistan - Afghanistan War)

Chinese diplomacy

THERE are signs that China is taking a more active role in trying to resolve the issue of cross-border terrorism between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan had last month launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq after a series of deadly terrorist attacks in this country were traced to Afghanistan.

The hostilities continue without any major sign of a negotiated settlement. However, if Beijing’s efforts succeed, perhaps a way out can be found to restore peace while addressing Pakistan’s valid concerns about Kabul offering sanctuary to terrorist groups such as the TTP.

The Foreign Office has acknowledged that the prime minister and foreign minister recently discussed the situation vis-à-vis Afghanistan in a phone call with the Chinese FM. “We are engaged in a dialogue process on Afghanistan,” the FO spokesman said.

Moreover, China’s ambassador in Kabul and its special envoy for Afghanistan recently met the Taliban FM, with the Chinese foreign ministry saying that these officials were shuttling between Afghanistan and Pakistan to mediate. “The most urgent task is to prevent the fighting from expanding,” Beijing’s statement, as reported by Reuters, observes.

Be very very careful of this. The Arabs are also going to apply pressure. These countries are not affected by the Durand Line dispute and TTP attacks. Pakistan is.

Pakistan needs to nod along, but absolutely continue to do the necessary.

This is all good, but as members have pointed out, it needs to happen continuously and proactively. Reactionary responses are not the cure.

Pakistan needs to gather intelligence uninterruptedly and take out threats immediately. This is the only way to weaken Taliban and TTP.

I talked about a spiderweb scenario happening to us, imagine instead of these rudimentary drones it had been FPVs instead launched near a PAF base, just deporting every Afghan refugee won't fix this issue the truth is there are millions of people in this country with sympathies to the taliban

I talked about a spiderweb scenario happening to us,

100%. The Indians and Israelis are aiding the Taliban. This isn't the Taliban carrying out such attacks. The Indians and Israelis are applying the Ukrainian methods. Of course Pakistan is a different beast altogether, but this is a wake up call.

What the F is KPK govt doing? Haripur/Hazara border Islamabad and Pakistan cannot allow afghandus/TTP to attack from drones. The time has come to merge Hazara division back in to Punjab. Undue stupid British era provincial border line. This region has been left on mercy of wolves.

Back? And that too Punjab? Does the Punjab gormint have some expansionist designs somewhere which they think can be implemented now, given the situation?

So, no retaliation. We seem to have been deterred by a few drones.

Every hour Afghanistans complete military infrastructure is slowly being taken apart. Literally.

Multi ID Indian rats like you can be spotted easier then Afghan border posts

Punjab is province of Pakistan. What is expansionist about it? Hazara is natural continuos part of punjab culturally and linguistically.

Unless you are ok with Islamabad being bombed with drones from Haripur because KPk have pro Taliban government?
