I wouldn’t say aircraft carriers are pointless.
It gives US dominance of the oceans.
It’s a must for a wannabe hegamon.
But it has no use in conquering a nation.
Being a hegemon has become prohibitively expensive - unless you can suck nations dry through puppet governments.
Iran is the First Nation to resist since Vietnam.

European and Western governments were on board with regime change the first 72 hours…..until Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and it was clear the nation wasnt going to surrender.
From that point on, everyone became against the war.

More like the US is trying to drag as many Muslim nations into the war as possible, and it ain't working.
So far, Pakistan has managed to mediate between both Saudi Arabia and Iran, and this is working.
At the same time there's been some understanding between Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkiye.
Iraqi militias are already battling the US presence in their country.
Iran's other neighbours Turkmenistan and Armenia are minding their own business.
That just leaves Afghanistan, and Pakistan is busy destroying former NATO airbases in that country.
Iran has free reign to take on anyone in the Persian Gulf, and Donald Trump is pleading to nations from East to West for help after declaring victory daily for over 2 weeks.
