That is not entirely accurate.Iran is hurting USA where it matters most.
Given the over reliance on gas guzzlers - US economy is heavily impacted by the price of oil.
Much more so than Europe.
US is also heavily dependent on the oil trade and ME oil revenue flowing into the US economy.
Iran is also tanking the Arab economies - limiting their ability to attack Iran in the future.
Whilst Iran is united - same cannot be said of the Arab countries. If their economy tanks - it will lead to a genuine Arab spring.
Iran can deal with Israel in the future. It must first deal with the meek Arabs.
The pressure on the US builds up because of the oil prices in countries considered its allies. The US can manage its own oil supply with domestic and Canadian oil. Yes, their costs would be slightly higher but they are not in a situation similar to China.
