You never know with IRI. Sometimes they pull genius moves and outplay everyone. Sometimes they make the most obvious and dumb mistakes.

There is an asymmetry in casualties unfortunately. But strategically speaking, we have the upper hand. Its not an exaggeration to even say we control the global economy now. I understand they can continue killing civilians and bomb our infrastructure as a disgusting and desperate attempt to force IRGC to surrender. But it won’t win them the war. We can actually force them to make concessions. If IRI plays their cards right, we will come out of the war as a dominate power both economically and militarily.

At this point I agree. IRGC has done a good job prosecuting this war and I'll admit PMU and Hezbollah surprised me too. I worry more about post-war reconstruction and the government compromising rather than forcing a permanent and favorable resolution.

The US is stuck, it cannot leave this war unilaterally without destroying itself. The strait of Hormuz is a chokepoint for the petro dollar system, if it leaves, Iran would exert control over the strait and set conditions. The GCC will see the weakness of the US and be exposed to a stronger and assertive Iran which may lead to changes in the GCC. If they move away from the petrodollar, then the US is done, no more recycling of USD and endless money printing. The US would be reduced to a regional superpower instead of a global superpower.
