Irrespective of hitting the base or note, even reaching anywhere near Diego Garcia shows Iran is revealing new capabilities. It is obvious they have been holding back a lot of capability and probably planned for a long war. What is now happening is also psychological, everytime Israel and US mouth off about degrading Iran, Iran then shows up with something new.

They most likely can, if they try. But only in a kinetic way, a direct hit of warhead to satellite. Though that can lead to an uncontrolled Kessler effect, taking out all other satellites in that orbit over time. Maybe even trapping humanity on Earth if enough debree starts orbiting the Earth.

A few strategists stated though, in the past, that if Iran feels a nuclear threat, it can always threaten the West with starting A Kessler Effect, it will be worse than a 1,000 nukes for the modern civilization. The downside is, that everyone will be fu**ed collectively if that happens.

Modern ASAT weapons use non kinetic means , like chasing satellites and frying their electronics from a distance, or using Earth based lasers, so they decay naturally into Earth's atmosphere. That tech is not available to Iran though.

Every tank hit means liquidating 4 crews inside. If you ask isreal their casualties are minimal as always. Everyone is fed up with their propaganda machine and got resistant to psyops.

Maybe instead of a kinetic kill an emp warhead can disable some satellites. Emp detonation can be directed to incoming satellites detonating above atmosphere. Leo satellites especially if not shielded enough can have some malfunction.

A version of flux compression generator bomb can be an option.
