Pakistan-Saudi Arabia mutual defense pact: News & Discussion

This is unrequited love for Gulfies by confused and irrational Pakistanis. Below is a list of the services provided by Pakistan to these Gulfies in the last 60 years :

  • Volunteer pilots sent to fly in Arab air forces in 1967 and 1973 war
  • Pakistani troops joining Jordanians to kill Palestinians to keep Monarchy in power in Jordan 1970
  • Pakistani soldiers stationed in Saudi Arabia as bodyguards of Al Saud 1980 to present
  • 15k Pakistani soldiers sent to protect Saudi Arabia in Gulf War 1
  • Pakistani soldiers and mercenaries stationed in Gulf to be bodyguards of their monarchs 1990 to present
  • Pakistani mercenaries used to suppress local population during Arab Spring in 2011, especially in Bahrain
  • Low paid Pakistani labor used for construction in entire GCC 1970 to present.
Despite all these contributions the GCC merely looks at Pakistan as hired help and prioritizes its relationships with the West, India, East Asia and Israel. So the idea that if one more time Pakistan rushes and saves these Arab monarchs, they will shower all these benefits on Pakistan is very unlikely.

The Gulf will respect Pakistan when the country has political stability, institutional rule, an economy worth investing in and a labor force capable of doing more than just manual tasks. The old approach of providing manual labor and security personnel for Westerners and Gulfies is maxxed out.

Pakistan has never killed a SINGLE Palestinian, EVER!

Kindly stop spreading your propaganda and baseless lies. Show us one valid evidence of Pakistani troops opening fire on any Palestinian EVER!

I would request you to remove your unsubstantiated propaganda from your posts that maligns Pakistan.

... The small narrow mindset of thinking for self has destroyed the country.
When was it that developed to begin with that it has been destroyed now?

There was a Pakistan before 16 December 1971 that lasted 24 years and 4 months. That Pakistan was young, full of vigor, passion and always trying new ideas. That Pakistan broke and died.

Then there's a Pakistan after 15 December 1971 which has existed for 54 years and 3 months. This Pakistan is experienced, mature, tougher, resilient, patience and inward looking. This Pakistan is always developing and ever evolving.

I like the new Pakistan.

I do not appreciate this very laisse fare attitude of Saudi’s towards Pakistan

Fear mongering more than anything....

Not a single Saudi soldier or pilot will ever set foot in Pakistan to defend it. They would never give their life for Pakistan, a country and people they consider vastly inferior to them. This pact is a one-way agreement because they know Pakistanis are willing to die for the 'holy land'. We are expendable.
Pakistan does not need any manpower from KSA. Each country would play to its strengths and that is the spirit of the "mutual" defense agreement. Saudis are short on manpower and require large force employment experienced boots on the ground. Pakistan's needs are different. We require infusion of funds to our economy and more importantly to our military industrial complex which Saudis can provide.

I don't buy your glass half-full view of things. Pakistan has never relied on any foreign power to fight our wars. Pakistan can expect Saudis to invest in joint defense manufacturing programs, conduct joint training, build expeditionary capabilities potentially and diplomatic support and that would be fine for Pakistan.

and that hasnt happend either

one year since we singed that deal and nothing has materialised

These things take time to manifest. Since I am not sure of exactly where the focus of the mutual pact is, it is hard to point to specifics.

Sit yoh ahhes down there's no war coming.... I can understand expats being blinded to think Pakistan will go to war with Iran... But locals... You guys seriously think Saudia and Pakistan can afford a ground invasion ? Will the Houthis and Iranians let the oil cross through red sea and hormuz ? Fighting force ko cng par chalao gae ? Ya Saudion nei koi magical tooti dee hai jismein sei diesel nikalta hai ?
Total 4 chawal youtuber hain kabhi woh Political Analyst hautay hain kabhi woh Defense Analyst ban jatay hain.... Poori 24 crore awam ko ch@#_ banaya hua hai aur awam bhee khushi khushi ban rahi....

So the obvious question is, why are the Gulfies and Saudi Arabia so weak? Aside from offering money to all and sundry (including Talibs and Indians), what actual use are they? If a nation pumps funds into the coffers of our enemies and us at the same time, why should preferential treatment be expected for said nation?

If one considers this rationally, then the natural course of all things becomes self evident.

Hulagu cursed the defeated Vizier of Baghdad for not spending on his military after he overran the Abbasids.

The Ottomans did not hesitate to annex the Hejaz for themselves in the 15th century.

I maintain that Arabs are compromised as a nation due to their self induced state of abject military despondency, as they have been for a century now.

Pakistan is expected to sustain and offer life support for a failed nation? A failed nation that funds our enemies as much as it does us?

There are better alternatives.
Hi,

There is a very simple answer to that. If you recall history---this area used to be a dominion of the Khilafat Osamnia for 100's of years.

The rulers were Turks and Turkiye military---. The arabs were left to their traibal status---. No militaries were raised from the arab dominions---.

The concept of a modern army never became a reality in Hijaz---.

Even though they got seperated from the Khilafat---no regular army creation took shape---.

A regular military command and control and combat is completely different than that of a tribal Lashkar---.

So---the arabs have suffered for that reason---.

Pakistanis often insult the arabs for they cannot fight and defend themself---.

But pakistanis lack to understand that it was with the will of Allah our Lord The Merciful God that took away the ability of military combat for the longest of times---.

And who was it supposed to benefit---it was supposed to benefit Pakistan---.

Allah had decided to change Pakistan's future and destiny---but the Pakistani rejected it and disgraced the opportunity---.

Reminds of myself---I used to pary Allah give me a lottery win---not knowing that he already had many many many times---on a YEARLY PAYMENT PLAN.

And out of my ignorance---I had rejected the opportunity so many times that I cannot count them on my whole fingers.

In the 90's I worked for the largest honda dealership in the world---. I left after 7 months---. Later I learnt that they were not looking for salesmen---but future sales managers---Gen sales managers---Gen Managars---sales making $100k +++ a yr to $350K +++ a year for the gen mngrs---and that was mid 90's---so many more examples like that.

Same with pakistan---injection of pakistani military with full battle regalia would have changed pakistan financially and the arab peninsuls militarily---.

Hindustan would have been completely neutered and a non threatening force by now---.

There would have been no american troops in the GCC---and Israel would not dare attack with around 250 K troops in the region---.

Hi,

The best helping hand is at the end of your arm---.

Procedurally---we do not need saudi military help---but if we do---no saudi soldier will refuse---

A nuanced and intriguing post, as per your usual exemplary standards.

I find myself in agreement with much of it, most crucially, that a window of opportunity has certainly been missed. You and I may differ with regards to whether that window is now truly sealed shut or not, and whether prizing it open with a crowbar might lead to more harm than good. Let us see what transpires.

You guys are getting way too worked up on this, Pak will act in a defensive capacity, its never had an offensive doctrine or philosophy especially vs a Muslim nation, also ask yourself to what end?

Apart from supporting any anti-missile, anti drone and protection of the holy places, I dont see more than that.
