The US will have absolute air dominance and they can absolutely bomb the military infrastructure of the island even using artillery from the Emirates. Even 5K soldiers with absolute dominance and proper training do have a real chance of invading a low populated island with already destroyed military infrastructure. And Trump has every reason to try that, if he thinks they have a chance. He needs closure badly.

Qeshm is a natural floating aircraft carrier and is sitting less than 30 miles off the coast. It has networks of tunnels and was specifically developed for this exact task we are talking about, that’s why it’s sparsely populated. Iran doesn’t need human shields to hold it.

Your logic applies both way, even if the marines manage to secure the island at great cost. They are now sitting ducks on that same island as Iran bombards them with artillery, MLRS, drones, FPV, etc.

I don't think so. First of all, nukes rarely explode on the ground. They are specifically programmed to detonate in the air to maximize their destructive power. Secondly, the explosion wave isn't strong enough to suggest that.
