Else all this will be forgotten in six months and Trump/Israel will be back for another bite of the apple in 2027 or 2028.

It forces them to choose between true neutrality and state collapse. After the war, they will load up on interceptors and try again. These states must accept a new regional order or must be destroyed. There is no benefit to having a hostile state which allows itself to be a staging ground for attacks on our borders, even if the populace is sympathetic. I would say Bahrain is an exception though as they have had uprisings against their rulers. There were reports that they had kept out of offensive operations because they feared the Iranian response, remind them of that. Make them think twice about participating at all in the future.

I tend to agree with you that the punishement should be swear enough for everyone to see and feel however Iran should get the guarantees from EU, China and Russia so there is no hanky panky again from the axis of evil. Meanwhile take this time to build military and the capabilities to shore up the defenses.
