Tehran fired two intermediate-range ballistic missiles at the base in the Chagos Islands, a remote British overseas territory located more than 2,000 miles from Tehran, Iran’s semiofficial Mehr news agency reported on Saturday. Neither missile hit the base, it added, though neither Iran nor the U.K. specified how close the missiles came to Diego Garcia.

The Wall Street Journal, citing multiple officials, reported that one of the missiles was shot down by a U.S. warship and the other failed in flight.

We're still years away from coexisting with the US. The US needs to learn to coexist with Iran, just like they did with China. However, we need to detonate the bomb for that to happen.

You did not mention a single benefit of targeting schools and hospitals in our neighboring Arab countries for what the US and Israel have done. There's none. It does not establish deterrence, unlike targeting their energy infrastructure.

As I said, and I will reiterate again, the appropriate to such actions is to target places like Dimona, the Weizmann Institute and such. Purposeful targeting of schools and hospitals of Arab countries around us achieves nothing and in fact helps Israel and the US.

It forces them to choose between true neutrality and state collapse. After the war, they will load up on interceptors and try again. Won't that be a major mistake by Iran ? This needs to drag on for a few more weeks, preferably a month for the oil shortages to become visible in countries and the economic and political damage to be permanent. Else all this will be forgotten in six months and Trump/Israel will be back for another bite of the apple in 2027 or 2028.

It's a balancing act. Iran can't make Hormuz alternatives like over-land transport profitable or politically necessary. Hormuz has to maintain its relevance to be used as a pressure point. We've proven we can close it, they will have to account for that in future decision making now.

Yeah, the internal situation of Iran has definitely improved. So, I'm willing to keep an open mind and see how China will conduct business with Iran post-war.

First and foremost, we need to establish deterrence against future adventurism by the US. If this war leads to a total failure of the US objectives followed by an economic crisis or recession, there's a chance that the Trump administration will be over for good.
