I still don't understand why Iran is so indecisive when it comes to facing their existential threat. They have as much time as Pakistan and N. KOREA to build nuclear deterrence but they just hang around and not punch through from the one-yard line. America has proven in the past that if they face a potential Iwo Jima or Okinawa, they'll fast forward to Hiroshima and Nagasaki right away.

Iran as made plenty of blunders in the last 40 years and not building a nuke was one of them.

I doubt there is a need for the carrier when GCC airbases can be used by US aircraft as well as the UAE shoreline. GCC air forces will likely provide additional air cover and may even participate in the assault. You could also see seizure of those three islands that Iran has a dispute with UAE over.
