Iran's military capability is essentially throwing rockets around, that's it. Their ground troops are worthless and against a foe like the US will most likely be wiped out if they attempted anything more than guerilla tactics.

How did you conclude that Iranian ground troops are worthless? Remember the coalition of 100k Kurdish and Iraqi militia with massive American air support and that took them like 2 years to dislodge 2000 ISIS fighters from Mosul. Any urban combat in Iranian cities will make Stanlingrad like a walk to the park....and that is if the American ground troops can cross the mountain range that extends from the coast to Iran's inland for 300 miles without facing any choke points and massive ambush
