Operation Ghazab Lil Haq (Pakistan - Afghanistan War)

we really should make thread about ideal buffer zones by analysing geography and known infiltration points

i will look into it tmrw and do some research and make it

Can you also search if and where buffer zones have been successful and over how large a territory. What kind of resources were required.

It really is now the best way to assert dominance over the ideology of our enemies. Hitherto, the concern has been over optics or the ultimate use of annexed land, but in this particular case, something of substance needs to be annexed, whether Wakhan or Nuristan, and the Talibs need to then be directly challenged to try and retake it. The aim is to assert Islamabad's dominance through military dominance.

When the Kabuli josh has quietened and internal dissent is at its peak in Afghanistan, then they will beg for restoration of the status quo, and Pakistan can choose an outcome that suits Pakistan. It may even be that Massoudists could be directly supported in taking and/or holding territory.
Taking all of Badakhshan is better than just Wakhan. It will give us an existing land route to Tajikistan from day 1. It will also give us a direct land border with Panjshir and other non Pashtun Afghan areas to use as leverage over Taliban. Nuristan is full of extremely valuable rare earths, similar people as Chitralis, and will massively help protect Pakistani border in the north. These 2 areas are absolutely essential for Pakistan. They give Pakistan a land route to Central Asia, threaten Taliban’s Pashtun hegemony in Afg, give Pakistan critical rare earths, help encircle Kunar (heavy Daesh presence), cut Afghans off from China (the fewer borders they have the better), and protect Chitral/Pakistan’s north from terrorist infiltration.
In the future Pakistan’s position in Badakhshan can cause Afghanistan’s Balkanization because it’ll have a direct land border with Afghanistan’s non Pashtun North East provinces, cutting Taliban off from land borders it has with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and forcing them to fight on 2 fronts.

Annexing the same guys we are kicking out ? Might as well point the revolver to my head no ? Tajik areas should go to Tajikistan and that would solve the Wakhan problem as well... Uzbeks Should take uzbek dominated areas as well... What is left, the Afghans may be left to their quarters.. They can evolve on their own pace and join society when they are ready or can live the life they are living now.. of a suicidal amoeba on the world scale...
The rare earths in Nuristan alone are worth more than Pakistans entire debt combined.
It’ll also make Pakistan a major player in lithium exports in the future. All those benefits for integrating just 200k people. An avg neighborhood in Karachi has more people than that.

you are saying like we will go their and will be able to mine in peace

The risk/reward is there. Nuristan would probably be easier to control than current North or South Waziristan. The population is much lower and Pashtuns are only like 10% of the population there. In extreme scenarios Pakistan can even settle 200k people in Nuristan to demographically change the area in its favour making any insurgency there extremely hard.

Anyone has some news around this strategic location?

The area is opposit Chitral with Barg-e-matal about 6 miles from The border and Kamdesh (south) being 14 miles from the border. Interestingly both cities are connected with a metalled road that runs on the banks of Bashgal River, a major river from hindukush feeding to Kunar river in Afghanistan.

time in and time out i have posted here for the need to secure Kunar river in Afghanistan. There are tons of locations where the river can have a dam and Indians have proposed it a few times. I hope the area secured is expanded to Kunar district as well.
If they dont accept the durand line, lets draw a newer and a more favorable one.

Not annex to hold onto for the purpose of inhabiting. There are other uses for annexed land.

It's a good idea, but we would need contributions from more senior members for this that are familiar with or can analyse the geography via tools like Google Earth along the border

Pakistan doesn't have the balls to do any of this, they couldn't even do anything meaningful in Balochistan over decades strategically, our troops are sitting ducks there to suprise attacks till this day.

Wakhan corridor, a part of Badakhshan province is more suited to assimilate with Pakistan than the rest of the province. Most of the people there are from the same Gojali tribe/people of Pakistani and they follow Ismaili sect of shia. Ismaili are minority in Afghanistan and in Badakhshan. Badakhshan province has Tajik, uzbek, and Turkmen people, all follow sunni Islam, and are known to be tough, rigid and difficult to work with.

Wakhan corridor cant be crossed at most if not majority of the places from Pakistan border making its southern boundary. Two or three of the highest peaks of Afghanistan are there and all on the Pak-Afghan border. Most of Afghanistan highest peaks are in or around Badakhshan province and we are talking abut 5k meter plus peaks. This should give an idea of what the terrain is out there.

Geographically, adding Wakhan and , parts of nurestan/kunar/Nanganhar/khost along rivers and natural boundaries will propel Pakistan's defence and security to a newer level. The current border makes it difficult to man and secure. Biggest example is that access to Chitral is easier from Afghanistan's side than from Pakistan.

China may intervene as they are trying to connect themselves with afg using the wakhan
