If we respected them and treated them equally in the federation it could have worked, but we'll never know. We treated them like dogs and the breaking point came when Mujib demolished all West Paksitani politicians in elections and then did not get his due. In history we blame Bhutto for this, but Bhutto bhi eik army planted politician tha and Yahya did not do much to stop him.

I have enough elders who were serving in the 60s and 70s to know this. Some who paid price and stayed back as PoW. We were racist to them, we didn't kill no 3 million bengalis but there exists a literal colony in Bangladesh where you can find bastard children of lighter skin. You get the idea.

Fauj supporters are a massive cult. Just because its not tied to one person doesn't mean its not a cult. Nowhere else in the world do you see people support their military being present in all areas of life and civil admin.

Even actual cults have change of leadership as time goes on. What is your point?

In fact, this cult regularly produces movies, TV shows and music videos to increase its appeal. It also has businesses and owns massive swathes of lands (not for military purpose). It's spokesperson regularly goes to universities to indoctrinate kids into thinking that, speaking against Pak army = being anti-national.

Am I wrong, tell me honestly? List one country that is ruled by its military and could at least be compared to 1st world nations. Burma? North Korea? Egypt? Any come to mind at all?

You people really do think politics is just performance art. One minute you mock “boot polishing,” the next minute you are inventing fairy tales about “balanced foreign policy” from a movement that treated slogans as strategy and delusion as statecraft.

Saudi Arabia is actually the perfect example of why your argument is childish. Trump can brag that MBS was “kissing his ass,” and it still does not change the fact that Saudi Arabia deals with the US from a position of wealth, leverage, arms purchases, energy influence, and strategic importance. That is the difference between a country that can absorb rhetoric and still extract value, and a country whose economy keeps colliding with reality and ends up back at the IMF.

That is what makes the PTI version of “independence” so embarrassing. It is not sovereignty because it is emotional cosplay for people who want to feel proud without doing the hard work of building actual national capacity. You cannot posture as some great anti-imperial force while depending on creditors, external bailouts, and fantasy economics to keep the lights on but go on with the "grape Khan" butt kissing while projecting it one everyone else.

So no, the issue is not whether Trump might one day mention Pakistan in some degrading way. With Trump, humiliation is just part of the package. The real question is whether a country is strong enough to still get something out of the relationship. Saudi can. Pakistan, in its current condition, cannot pretend that chest thumping is a substitute for leverage.

This is where the cultism comes in PLAIN AND CLEAR.
Because at some point facts stop mattering to you people entirely. The movement gives you a script such as “boot polishers,” “slaves,” “imported regime,” “real freedom” and then you all repeat it to each other like a prayer until the slogans themselves become a substitute for thought.

Internal contradictions do not matter.
Failed predictions do not matter.
Economic reality does not matter.
The only thing that matters is whether the line flatters the group’s identity and you all can go 69 on each other constantly.

What PTI sold people was not strategic autonomy and instead was narcissism dressed up as nationalism, marketed to a political fanbase that now behaves less like citizens and more like a belief community. That is why every debate with you folks feels pointless because you are arguing with people who do not want coherence, only reinforcement.

Yep I too have elders in my family who served. Most don’t speak about those times at all. The little info we have got will give you chills. Unfortunately seems we never learned from our mistakes given the rhetoric on here
