China and Iran signed a long-term cooperation framework agreement on March 27, 2021. In May 2025, Iran's Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Ehsan Qitsazbin, revealed to the media that Iran is exploring the gradual migration of positioning systems in key areas from US GPS to Beidou. Beidou is open to the world, and the Beidou system currently covers about 137 countries and regions, and provides signal services in more than 200 countries and regions around the world.

As of now, since there no pictures of any downed rescue helicopter, but there are that of the F15E, this makes me think the report of the helicopter shootdown was incorrect.

The trolling would have worked better had Iran captured the pilots. If the pilots do manage to escape/be rescued, then that is not a good look on Iran at any level.
