For goodness sake, what value do they extract by their attack on a cement factory? This is more like a desperation as the war is not going in the direction that they so desired.

Not retired. These are part of airforce reserve and are kept specifically there for this purpose. Us is in no way running out of tankers. Theres 150 tankers with usaf and even if 10 are out of picture that's still 140 left + 150 USANG fleet and another 60 in reserve. And this is just kc-135 fleet. The entire fleet is pushing past 60 years old any retired airframe wont be more than a couple years older than active aircraft

If it were Iran, Russia's influence would be greater than China's. Even India has strong influence over Iran.

But China may be the only major power that hopes for the unity of the Islamic world in the Middle East, and Russia also hopes for the continued division of the Islamic world. Its position is similar to that of the United States.

Like it or not, the US owns Iranian airspace. Any Iranian airplane flies, he dies. Simple as that.

textbooks from last century should be rewritten to adapt to new realities imo... I bet the one who wrote these lines never saw a country like Iran coming: a country with basically no air force but deadly missiles. well I guess the E-3 and KC-135 kills could fit the "defeat enemy air force while they are on the ground" narrative:p

Speaking of which, what's your excuse for USAF‘s lousy performance so far? I mean things can't get more clear when a side by side comparison can be made: the IAF simply outperforms USAF by a sizeable margin, they havent lost anything yet except some expendable drones, while flying the same amoumt of sorties if not more

unironically for most neutral observers, the US military is quickly following suit of the Russians

My bad i was thinking of scott o grady a us f-16 pilot shot down over bosnia in 1994. He did survive for 6 days
