US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

Possible helicopter too?
Allegedly pics from the burn site
If you think these are poor optics, just remember one thing: The United States violates Iran's sovereignty, dignity, honor, and land for the sake of a single pilot. A country that couldn't even capture a soldier on its own soil. This makes it a fragile state. And this rescue will remain etched in the military memory.

Ah but we don't know what the US are doing or not doing - We have a sneak peek, not the full picture. There is only so much you can learn from a FM or a TM.

Sure, my point was same goes for Iran right?

Seems like they have been constantly underestimated since this whole thing began....

Think they only have around 45 of these MC-130Js in service.
Again meaningless when you win the PR war. I don't see why we are going around in a round robin when we know how the US looks at strategic victories.

Both sides have had detractors Iran and US. Both sides have people who dismiss the other. I mean we have had people on PDF claiming the US can't do shit and we have had people on PDF claiming Iran has 2 missiles left.

Well, depends, you may think the rescuing of 1 airman is a win, I on the otherhand think losing 2 x C-130Js and 2 x UH-60s, all special operations configured is a draw for both, in fact tilting towards Iran, we are allowed to differ on that.

Yes but that is the point of this debate right? The point, in this game of PR - Iran won some battles, but America scored a home run this time.

Again, depends on your interpretation and we can differ on this. If every rescue mission will cost the US that much they cannot afford to do this for very long. Is rescuing the pilot a good PR win? Of course.

Well you can disagree with me, but the vast majority of analysts will agree with this assessment. Sadly not a good look for Iran this time. Not every battle is won, some are lessons.

The US has lessons to learn - so does Iran.

Lets see what the majority say, it is far to early and we do not know the full facts, I will wait for them before writing up a great success story, as will most analysts you will find.

Iranians of course will learn, as will US. Both are intelligent and sophisticated countries

Frankly a lot of discourse so far has been cope, we need to stay balanced and look at facts, without over-emotional chest thumping.
