US Perspective on the Iran - Israel / US War

older MH6 based on MD500 had 5 main blades

newer MH6M based on MD530 has 6 bades
I am talking about the aircraft we are currently using. I don't think they sent in OH/AH-6A in last night's operation.......

On the other hand, IIRC OH-6A are 4-bladed.......I can be wrong about this tho, that was way before my time.

Details about the rescue op for the U.S. Weapon Systems Officer, via a U.S. military official: "The mountain top area on the left is where the WSO was hiding (he ejected 5ish miles northwest of there). The right area is the makeshift landing strip where they landed 2 C-130s and had 4 MH-6 Little Birds. "One Little Bird flew to that mountain top area and rescued the WSO and brought him back to the landing strip. And of course the two C-130s' nose gears got stuck in the dirt. So after a few hours they had to bring in three AFSOC Dash-8s to fly out the rescued WSO and the 100 or so personnel involved in the op." 1/2

"The op basically cost $300 million because they had to abandon the two AFSOC C-130s and the four MH-6 Little Birds. Then the U.S. Air Force had to use multiple bombs to blow up all the aircraft they abandoned at that airstrip. And the Iranians shot down 2 MQ-9s Reaper drones. "Luckily the U.S. suffered no casualties and we had to use multiple bombs and missiles to blow up IRGC vehicles that tried to drive up the mountain and also those that tried to drive to the airstrip." 2/2

How did they manage to shove C 130 noses in the dirt ? You need top gun like skills to do that .

Comes with both
Some models had 5 and the newer ones have 6, depending on the engine
IIRC, they are all upgraded to MH-6M by 2015, which means an engine and rotor change. Again, I don't think there are any MH-6A left by the time this happens. Certainly not flying with 160SOAR

Note: I am not disputing that the 160SOAR ditched those choppers in the sand, I am just saying this is suspect, unless they are pulling ages-old boneyard stock to do this, that rotor does not fit on an MH-6M or AH-6M, that's what I am saying

I hope not, this President has immunity and is willing to use it to remove any political constraints any previous administration imposed in the use of force. If Trump was President when Mogadishu happened he would have leveled an entire city block to get Aidid.

If you think he is kidding about leveling Iran unless they accept his terms - he is not.

Well lets see, Greenland was supposed to be American a few months ago.

Many of his threats are forgotten about a day later, some are carried out. His recent posts reek of desperation, they point to someone unhinged and running out of options.

the difference is his donors enablers don't care about Greenland. Iran is a different story, you know this better than most.

This is making assumptions, remember he kept extending deadlines on Hormuz? Then saying a deal was imminent?

He seems to think massive threats add to pressure during a negotiation, and if this was an ordainary situation or dodgy New York real estate deal he may be right.

This is Iran with its back to the wall. He knows this too, he also knows there is only a certain amount of economic pain Americans will be willing to take, so his cards are not that strong.

He simply do not know. Maybe the ambiguity is the point
