Major military escalation
Intensive US and Israeli strikes hit deep inside Iran, Tehran responds by targeting shipping and facilities in the Arabian Gulf with limited attacks against Israel, Iraq and Jordan
Riyadh - Saudi News 24: US forces carried out a series of "deep" airstrikes inside Iranian territory, directly targeting industrial complexes linked to the production of missiles and drones, and strategic ports, in addition to targeting infrastructure on the vital Khark Island, petrochemical plants, and oil depots. The operations included the destruction of electronic warfare systems, radars, and air defense systems (Russian and Chinese-made) that had recently arrived in Tehran, as well as the bombing of fortified military shelters, especially those still located inside military bases and under mountains.
In a related context, the simultaneous Israeli attacks focused on paralyzing the movement of transport and energy, by targeting airports and limited targeting of power plants and vital bridges, while directing direct threats to bomb the entire Iranian railway network.
For its part, Tehran responded by directing its people to gather under bridges and around power stations to prevent the United States from targeting it. It launched missile barrages and drone attacks that limitedly targeted Israel, while it launched some attacks against the Iraqi army and Iraqi airports, in addition to missile attacks on Jordan. While the Iranian attacks focused extensively on facilities and regions in the Arab Gulf states, their intensity was focused on Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
On the other hand, Saudi air defenses succeeded in intercepting and thwarting Iranian attacks that attempted to target the eastern region. International warnings are mounting that the region is sliding towards a comprehensive war, especially in light of the preparations taking place in Saudi Arabia, and warnings issued by Pakistan to Iran, which indicates that Saudi Arabia may carry out strikes against Iran, in which Pakistan, Turkey, and the Arab Gulf states may join. Which portends a major military conflict that will take place in the region as a result of Netanyahu’s actions, Iran’s stubbornness, and Trump’s insistence.
