Islamabad Talks - News & Discussions

Of course, very unlikely but not totally out of the question. I'm just so damned disappointed that the talks failed.
The gap between the positions of two sides was so large that an agreement to end war would have been the greatest miracle of that kind in the history of warfare. Wars have not been prevented when stakes were far, far less.

We have a saying: the benefits that cannot be obtained on the battlefield cannot be obtained at the negotiating table either.

For many years, the United States has participated in negotiations from a position of advantage. Now the U.S. has lost that advantageous position, but it has not learned to negotiate from a position of disadvantage, and it does not even know how to hold an equal dialogue.

At the 2021 China-U.S. high-level strategic dialogue, the United States used a series of tough words and actions to pressure China. The U.S. made unwarranted attacks on China during an overtime public speech, especially interfering in multiple Chinese domestic affairs from Xinjiang to Hong Kong, attempting to take the leading role.

The Chinese representative said: "We overestimated you; we thought you would follow basic diplomatic etiquette. I’ll say this: you do not have the strength or the qualification to talk with China."

The Chinese Foreign Minister said: the U.S. side must correct this old habit of interfering in China’s internal affairs.

The arrogant Americans will pay a greater price.
The arrogant Yanks won't give up easily their country's status and perks as the sole superpower in the world. They don't see others as equal to US.

They are seeing Iran coming out of sanctions and will start pumping out massive vol of oil n gas. They will rebuild fast. Pars gas will reach Pak, and possibly India too if India gets some sanity.
Also destroyed Karachi will get a chance to rival DUMBBBBAI.
Their and Israel objectives converge in the regions though for different reasons.

If GHQ take control of Karachi and let Karachi industrialists and traders to rebuild and develop Karachi, Dubai will just be Ghost buildings after 5 years.
GHQ has full control of Karachi through it's A team of Zardari and his merry band of thugs and looters...Karachi doesn't rival or exceeds Dubai because GHQ prefer it this way.

Previous head of GHQ Bajwa to Karachi business community: "Don't complain about bhatta just move your businesses to Punjab"...

This is why I have always maintained that for Iran the only way out is going nuclear.
The negotiation deadline was till Trump goes to sleep.. which happened when Vance gave press conference.. Super powers are arrogant..

11 hrs back when Trump said that he doesn't care whether there is a deal or not , I knew very that moment that the talks are not going as expected for WH and US wanted to move out. Delay came due to Pakistani efforts to reach some sort of an agreement but that didn't happen.

Unfortunate. This was a chance to be a big win for Pakistan but it didn’t work out. More importantly, the real victims of this will be the whole region.

What a stupid war Trump took on. What a mess.

I think Iranians overplayed their hand.

Even before the war they were very far from achieving nukes. After the war a lot of damage has been done to their nuke efforts. They should have agree to give them up for security guarantee that Israel will not ever attack them and that they will be allowed to build a credible deterrence in conventional combat capability. They should have instead asked for no conditions tied lifting of sanctions. That would have gotten them the money needed to build a conventional force.

I think Iranians lost the plot somewhere, and it doesnt bode well. Because even if they try to again start nuke program, Israel will keep pounding them.

How so? Pakistan facilitated the China-US breakthrough in the early 70's seventies. Yet were duly discarded by the "masters not friends" multiple times since and we are still a basket case even worse than we were economically compared to the 70's.

I concur.. I guess it was just the hopium in me that took over a little.

I can only imagine what each country's opening full wish list was.

guess the talks have failed and we are back to war shortly

yea , three countries and opposition party will be happy.

IndIa , UAE And Israel had made their feelings known before even the talks started and PTI used the event for its politics.

now the trolling celebrations will be funny

The amount of crap being thrown out by certain overseas supporters of this party was downright filthy. Like this is a major moment - regardless of how this plays out and they were busy passing shitty comments even before it began that would make even the BhaktJob trolls blush.
