US failed to gain Iran’s trust during talks, says Ghalibaf

Iran’s parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has said that the US failed to gain Iran’s trust during the talks.

In a post on X, Qalibaf said that before the US-Iran talks in Islamabad, he “emphasised that we have the necessary good faith and will, but due to the experiences of the two previous wars, we have no trust in the opposing side”.

He added, “My colleagues on the Iranian delegation Minaab168 raised forward-looking initiatives, but the opposing side ultimately failed to gain the trust of the Iranian delegation in this round of negotiations”.

yea bro I agree with you fully, I hope my PTI followers stop liking and sharing the crap posted by likes of Imran Riaz , Moed Tumbzada and Adil Baja. because they bring bad name to Pakistan and give Indians a chance to laugh.

Most PTI supporters that I knew was happy and appreciative for Pakistan's role in current mediation. Most supporters are educated middle class of Pakistan that forms the core of this nation. They know very well what is right and what is wrong.

However, you must understand that ofcourse the wounded and politically suppressed members of that party would not miss any chance towards civil-military leaders (illegitimate according to them and the polls). It is human nature. They were treated by the state as enemy and traitors with their only fault to stand against military's decision of regime change. That political party was thrown out by sheer brute force despite them winning the majority and their leaders imprisoned in most brutal and fascist way. Their women were dragged, cancer patients imprisoned, their members killed in protests. Its human nature to hate a system which do mountains of injustice against you.

I didn't played or listened to the clip of sister of Imran Khan. But put yourself at her position, If you'd be at her position you would literally kill your opponents, I would do the same. Her son imprisoned for life, her brother is in small windowless cell. His only crime not obeying military decisions.

There is zero contribution of current mil-civil leaders since regime change (btw these civil are just puppets anyways and a mockery). There's just one king of the country, a COAS for life. The economy tanked, the justice system totally under the boots now, hence destroyed, media under boots hence no freedom, human rights etc in every field there is serious degradation, security situation deteriorated in balochistan, kp etc. This regime's only achievement is Trump's flattery and nominating him for peace prize even though he calls of annihilation of a civilization and supports israel which turns Gaza into rubble. People of Paksitan knows that Gaza was turned into blood and dust after regime change. This current regime was very unpopular until Modi's 4 day war which brought whole nation together for unity against a common foe. Even in that war real credit goes to last govt as they procured J-10Cs/PL-15s which resulted in air victory on the night of attack. The regime has zero contribution in that victory. Regime failed to respond to blatant aggression of india for next 4 days. They fired missiles to all major bases and cities of our country.

So, I don't agree to the view where people redirect their critiscm against all PTI supporters and put everyone in same bracket. Although i never voted for PTI, never attended any jalsa, or any membership of sort but If I have to compare and assess between political parties of Pakistan, I will pick PTI in a heartbeat. Knowing they are stupid but they are gazillion times better than N-league for several reasons. I know many pti supporters who forgot their political affiliation / imprisonment of their leader and stood together against common foe like India and than later Afghanistan skirmishes. They never owned or liked wrong numbers like adil rajas.. they even say pmln fund him covertly. No sane person can support such disgusted characters.

Its time we must avoid unneccessary critiscm of maintstream & largest political party of country. Otherwise our problems will never settle. You just cannot alienate the largest segment of the society. Its time for inclusion and fair assessment of last 4-5 years. I don't say PMLN or PPP are traitors even though they have given so many excuses to india to laugh on Pakistan like "taangien kanpna to COAS" in war against india etc. Every political party has serious stakes in Pakistan. The unneccessary bashing of main parties must end. Pakistan Zindabad!

Trump has a stark choice - escalate or negotiate

Lyse Doucet
BBC Chief international correspondent, in Islamabad

The US Vice-President called it good news and bad news. Good news that they had substantive discussions with the Iranians. Bad news that they have not reached an agreement.

He called that bad news for Iran.

The length of this single negotiating session was significant and surprising.

But it’s not surprising that a deal wasn’t reached.

The Americans came to Pakistan with a view that Iran had suffered so badly in this war that quick compromises were possible.

"They have not chosen to accept our terms," Vance announced.

But Iran also has its own red lines.

It approached these negotiations believing it had a strong hand. Despite major damage to its military capabilities, it’s still able and willing to keep fighting.

And it still has significant leverage especially in its control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The last time Tehran and Washington reached a nuclear deal a decade ago it took 18 months of breakthroughs and breakdowns.

Trump now has confronts a stark choice – escalate or negotiate.

I have been trying to stop writing on this website, but what keeps me here are people like you those who label 90% of Pakistanis as traitors. In reality, the true traitors and foreign agents are those who stole the election from the people. Those who cover up these acts of treason are just as guilty.

While Pakistan may have achieved milestones in diplomacy, the people remain unhappy because they view you as the ones who stole their mandate.

Consider this a warning times will change, and you will all face the consequences. Because you shielded treason, you will eventually face brutal justice.

Because in my eyes you can forgive mistakes but you cannot forgive treason
Thank you for staying here and making this commentary you have brilliantly proven my point again...

No substance.. Half truths and Peak emotional black mailing.. that's all you lot can do... Ruined yourselves and everyone who supported you.. Times will change and for the better I.A .. and I hope whatever is left of PTI comes to its senses.

There is a lot of not good history between Iran, and Turkieye and lot of mistrust.

PS - you need to show your flags.
Iran might trust us again for talks since well.. we have earned their trust with these talks

Aswell as US you look at vance saying we facilitated well.

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are still in Pakistan and the Iranian delegation is also still in Pakistan: Pak journalist Talat Hussain

Not sure why Vance left, could be pressure tactic. lets see
these two guys Witkoff and Kushner are the real spoilers and Israeli Shills.
I dont know why Pakistan has sent its forces to KSA? what tech and power it has that Americans and Israelis cant provide to KSA and UAE while using KSA assets, land and airspace while launching their attacks on Iran?

best bit would've been that Pakistan had stationed some forces in Tehran as well to prevent the bombing of schools, hospitals, refineries, universities, plants and other civilian infrastructure but thats only possible in a parallel universe and its unthinkable because KSA signed a deal for Pakistan to stand in front of it while Saudi Allies attack Iran.

whereas Iran failed to convince Pakistan to buy its cheap oil or even couldnt convince to use the mutually beneficial gas pipeline. maybe if it gives away the unfrozen funds to Pakistan then it can buy some "brotherly favor" from pakistanis who always point at Saudi Halal dollars as a reason for their devotion to house of Saud ?

Ok another fake news by Pak journalist. They all left. And then they cry why no one is taking them seriously. But keep making stupid yt videos for short term gains.

No Breakthrough but No Breakdown. US leaves offer on the table.
For Pakistan it was Massive - getting US and lran sit on a table - Face to face.

Will lran make a statement?

It had potential to be massive but this deal was very important and now unless any deal is reached through back channels in two weeks it will not be good for Pakistan.

If war continues Pakistan will have to comply with the defense pact and things can get very complicated very fast

Factual and reasonable response.

I don’t know anyone personally who was not happy that Pakistan could potentially broker a peace deal.

More on the topic I think Pakistan missed a golden opportunity to get this deal done. None of us were in the room so we can’t which party Americans or Iranians were being unreasonable.

However, and this is a bit of a stretch but plausible, there are some benefits to Pakistan not being involved in a brokered deal (especially where Pakistan would be guarantors of parts of the deal)

Suppose a deal was struck and later it was found Iran violated terms in partnership with Pakistan that would give Israel the perfect green flag to bomb Pakistan as well.
