U.S. to Blockade Ships Entering or Exiting Iranian Ports

TAMPA, Fla. — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces will begin implementing a blockade of all maritime traffic entering and exiting Iranian ports on April 13 at 10 a.m. ET, in accordance with the President’s proclamation.

The blockade will be enforced impartially against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM forces will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports.

Additional information will be provided to commercial mariners through a formal notice prior to the start of the blockade. All mariners are advised to monitor Notice to Mariners broadcasts and contact U.S. naval forces on bridge-to-bridge channel 16 when operating in the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz approaches.

This Hormuz threat is being exaggerated , can't figure out why .....when the Americans decide to take over the Hormuz, it will be a catwalk for them...Iran has no defences worth consideration left......if Iran doesn't smell the coffee then she will have to surrender unconditionally within a short time..... these talks about oil reserves and how long they are going to last is intellectual masturbation of empty minds .

2. For China, the GCC countries are more important than Iran.

3. If Iran hopes to gain China's support, it must prove its worth to China.

how much is it going to cost the US to chase down and interdict every ship leaving an Iranian port? Will it be less than 139m$ a day that Iran will lose? How can we be sure Iran isn't going to use asymmetric tactics like the Houthis and load remotely detonated explosives on cargo vessels? You make it sound easy, What do we do with the cargo from these vessels? Are we going to sell it?

Stop believing everything you read in a PowerPoint presentation or posted on X. Everyone predicted Russia's demise via sanctions. They are still going strong and still fighting in Ukraine.
