The Orangeman is sorta a history buff he often utilizes specific, cherry-picked historical figures and narratives to shape his political rhetoric and decisions and I'm pretty sure he's studied Operation Linebacker II and how it got North Vietnam to the negotiation table making a deal with US. I think if bombing restarts we're going to see something like this where in the end whatever is left of regime will comeback to make a deal.
And that is my armchair psychoanalysis of the Orangeman's thinking. He takes disrespect personal
You are not the only one. Sane, anti-war people like Scott Horton also said something like that some weeks ago. With Trump, Iran is not dealing with a rational person. Trump is a dictator with almost unchallenged power and authority especially about foreign policy. And I believe Pakistanis are trying very very hard for Iran to make a sensible compromise and live to fight another day. Pakistan was a nuclear power when 9/11 happened, and had no role in the 9/11 attacks and in fact tried to help the Americans to target Bin Laden in 1998. But after 9/11, Pakistanis swallowed their pride, dumped the Mullah Umer regime of Afghanistan and today's Pakistan is militarily, diplomatically and even economically much stronger than it was on 9/11. The journey to today's Pakistan wasn't easy as we all know the carnage Pakistan has faced in the last 25 years.
