What if Afghan Taliban and their allies will be the ones to force an India Pakistan war? That only justifies India’s “moral” play - you cannot go without moral plays like America because you have no equivalent military might nor economic clout.
The best bet is to be prepared enough and keep using disproportionate force on them so they are shell shocked during the time you deal with India
Since Al Qaeda central is now paying attention to Pakistan again, Al Qaeda aligned groups, with Taliban assistance can launch a massive attack in India to force an Indo-Pak war. They would probably bet on Pakistan being weakened in the war so post war TTP/Al Qaeda fill in the gap and hold territory in Pakistan and even attempting a takeover. They wouldn’t even have to attack Pakistan during the war with India instead they might even show support for Pakistan through statements for optics.
India could even be on board with this because they’ll get an excuse to avenge the failures during Sindoor and having TTP/Al Qaeda hold territory in Pakistan or even attempt a takeover means Pakistan won’t be able to recover any areas in might lose in a Sindoor 2.0. The west might even support India after such a war to “prevent Islamists” from gaining more territory.
I don’t see how joining India openly in a war against Pakistan will benefit Taliban in any way. That will work against their narrative, hurt their optics, and give Pakistan justification to treat them as equal to India when retaliating. For example nukes, Pakistan can’t justify using them against Afghanistan but could against India in a total war. But if Afghanistan was to join India in that war it’ll justify Pakistan nuking them even if Pakistan doesn’t nuke India.
I think the bigger threat is Taliban and its allies starting an indo-pak war instead of openly attacking Pakistan during an indo-pak war.
