Hangor Class Submarine | Updates & Discussion

Once all inducted this will give PN a much more modern SSK fleet then IN. Never thought I would write that in my lifetime....
Definitely. If you can remember back in 2013 2014 2015 time Pakistan wanted to buy new submarines, Germany refused and we were stuck, France also wanted to sell to India and not Pakistan, China didn't have the cutting edge submarines, but still in 2015 we ordered Chinese submarines and after 11 years theyre finally inducted. India worked hard to spoil our plans but Allah almighty is the best of planners. We also struggled to upgrade Agostas and now Turkey upgraded them with cutting edge technologies.

this submarine is a absolute monster

can we image how powerful PN will be with 8 x Hangor class

+ 3 x Agosta 90B + 2 x Agosta 70

plus 3 x COSMOS for shallow water

thats 16 x Submarines of all kinds

Forget the A70s they are going to be retired soon, pretty sure they aren't even used for anything besides training nowdays, also Cosmos aren't even in service anymore.

Agosta 70's are way too old, need to retire now. Even 90B's are more than 30 years old now, they would be ready to retire by the time we get the next batch of four Pak made subs.

Incorrect, try again, there are reloads, and yes, 6 cruise missiles coming at you would even test a USN battle group let alone the rust bucket IN carriers

Okay. Didn't knew.

If we can reload them and also have missiles storage compartment for additional 15-25 missiles then that would be really nice. But still, a submarine is stealth only till it fires it's weapon. If you launch torpedo or missile, your position is visible to enemy assets. So I wont focus too much on the reloads. Because for the surprise attack you only got 6 missiles to sink enemy assets otherwise they will come after you with mines, torpedoes and missiles.

Just mu take.

Since around 2015, progress and adoption of new technologies has skyrocketed and we can see other countries being left behind by a long shot.
It's not since 2015. It started earlier from 2000s. Only 90s was the lost decade because of sanctions and no other real alternatives.

IMO, 2008 to 2010 were most significant years for Pakistan's military, PAF for first the time got its hands on AEW&Cs + Air refueler tankers + JF-17s first batch (first time ever BVR capability) + AMRAAMs next year. Situation awareness, BVR, air refueling all essential capabilities were added. It was force multiplied by many folds in just 2-3 years. Spada 2000 air defense systems were added in those years too.

2000s were also important as rapid growth of missile program, babur cruise missiles, shaheen missiles and all that. PAF's thunder development and Navy inducted those Zulfiqars + last of A90Bs.

However, yes since 2015 long due focus was finally given to PN.

90Bs were upgraded only recently, they should be good to go for at least another decade or two

We should however aim for nuclear powered subs for longer missions, BM second strike etc

During the Cold War US CSGs were expected to face volleys of 100 or so Soviet supersonic anti-ship missiles. The Soviet/Russian Oscar-class submarine alone carries 24 supersonic missiles. It's laughable that you think 4-6 subsonic cruise missiles pose a real threat to a US or even India carrier group. Won't engage further with you since you can't argue in good faith.
In a war or even in a skirmish, after a first Indian navy ship/sunk/carrier is sunk, the Indians will run away and hide the rest of their ships/subs etc on docking ports, then make a series of lame movies about it. The bottom line is, India is no match for Pakistani missiles.

Been telling you guys that for years. In the old forum I had posted that Pakistan blows India to hell when it comes to Pakistani missile capabilities. The Indians laughed, but aftet the Rafale distaster they were no where to be seen.

What Pakistan Navy will do to the Indians, they will remember it for generations.

The Indians have been very very lucky in regards that Paksitan has been plagued by deep corruption at all levels.

I still think we need to order 10 more for Hangor class after 8 previous orders AND new nuclear powered submarines.

$$$$
I would recommend switching attention to sea drones and other cheaper remotely operated or automated equipment. Thats where the future is headed, not these huge slow capital intensive platforms.

Sounds good! I like this suggestion.

But this will take 11 to 15 more years to complete which is a very long time, sigh.
5 years goes by like 5 hours these days.

Better to have more even if it is 10 years from now.
