I happened to perform surgery on a very senior recently retired PAF officer …

I did not know who he was or what position he held until after I called him home for post op and he was very thankful and asked me to come over to his son’s house for tea sometime .

I took up his offer and we had a very detailed discussion on PAF’s performance last year.

Here is what he feels :

PAF planes performed flawlessly…. We had a complete control over air space in terms of air-air scenarios ..

However we did not perform well in ground to air defences and our interception of enemy cruise and supersonic missiles was less than satisfactory .

I personally had a same feeling …. Indians have a huge advantage in standoff Air to ground weapons and platforms to utilize them . We unfortunately don’t have as accurate systems and those that we do have are few and expensive to use .

We need to urgently upgrade our ground to air defences and yes Indians did very well in this respect…. Much better than us ….

Their precision weapons penetrated our air defense with success and they hit our airbases. We don't have similar systems and not even similar jets. We should have j-16 but we don't have this important jet. They are confident that they can destroy all our airbases in the next war and that can be real because we don't have systems to stop hypersonic missiles.

Also I haven't seen any damage on their airbases in any of satellite images. This is extremely worrisome. It clearly means that our standoffs are either jammed or intercepted mid air. Our inability to strike their airbases is a big advantage to the enemy and enemy is confident this time.

I am not happy with our performance. Obviously we destroyed their jets. Nice but they will buy more. Airbases can't be repaired quickly if damaged to certain extent.

Also our kids and civilians died and our mosque was hit which means religion. We haven't seen any strikes on Indian temples or dead bodies of Indian civilians which is also a sign of weakness from Pakistan.

Seriously..., they got the jump on us - everytime.

I suppose they have 7 PAF Jets to show as confirmed hits too.

I suppose they have a kill to match the S-400 we took out.

When you say that they will buy more (new jets)..., would you like to share when was the last time they actually got new jets.

They can't get the F-35 or any US Jet.

There is a long list of Nations that have already ordered the Rafale & are awaiting for theirs.

ENDians aren't interested in Russian jets.

And the TEJAs..., well that's another story altogther. If its not the Engine issue, its the Crash issue. If its not the MK1A, its the AMCA delay issue.

(But really, on paper - the TEJAs can beat anything short of an ALIEN Spaceship.)

Naturally, they struck us at nite - as they always do, but would you kindly explain how you want to defend an attack that can come at any time. Literally any time.

Would you like the PAF (with our great Economy) to have Jets in the air 24/7-365 Days a Year...?

good Idea, we can do that by stop justifying and inlfating a poltical stance againt Pakistan army as a defining sentiment. sadly this behavior has been repeated once again by spreading false propoganda that Pakisan was going to backstab Iran while Pakistan was receiving praise from Iran

You know what you and Indians have in common ?

Making videos and songs .

The points he raised are very ligit and accurate .

We are outranged and outgunned except in air to air domain. Scalp and Hammer are being replaced by Israeli ER AsM missiles.

It is no laughing matter and we should be able to openly discuss it. Yes we did exceptionally well last year but any saturated attack by Indians next time will penetrate our defences and hit our bases hard . Launching 4-5 missiles we countered and we survived …. 50 incoming missiles we won’t.

Unless we build up significantly our layered defences to counter incoming hypersonic missiles .

Please stop acting arrogant and be thankful Allah gave us the victory but now is the time to openly evaluate and prepare for the next round .

Another thing I learned that CM missiles “disturbed” their S400 and not destroyed it . I was explained in detail what happened and the results were not satisfactory as it didn’t wipe out S400 battery as we would like to claim .

What kind reply is that man? Should we just keep boasting of downing Indian jets in a2a combat for the next whole millennia? Everybody on this forum have said we performed excellently in a2a but where we lacked was in a2g and AD, what's wrong with discussing that? In the next phase the jeets will first try to do Sead and Dead and then come, how you gonna stop volleys of these missiles especially the conventionally armed BMs? Please try to lets us all have a good descussion rather then just shutting stuff up as if you are being payed to do so. baqi,

The night and time refreshes the trauma of numerous indian servicemen who were involved in Sindoor.

The pilots in the air who had to eject - the formation leaders and formation fellows who lost their formation members.

The AD controllers in C2s who lost their peers in the air.

The ground crew who had prepared the aircrafts for strike but didn't receive the aircrafts back for post flight inspections.

The IAF leadership in C2s who just didn't know what happened and decided to ground the entire IAF in western / south western command AoR.

The rescue crew who had to take off in hurry and wildly search for downed pilots before any locals reached and made embarassing videos.

Everyone's got shocks, trauma and memories of their own - for life. What a night it was.
