Id like to see J10s up to 40 to 50 aircraft depending on available budget.

I hope 4 to 6 J35s are also provided for PAF to start their training holistically.

Financing. Due to this issue our second squad of J10Cs hasn't been in green flag yet.

I mean the best solution will be get J-10CE's increase their numbers to around 40-50, make around 3 sqs. Let the J-35's mature first and like every new fighter program there will come issues which Chinese are better equipped to handle than us. IAF hasn't even signed the additional Rafale Deal so we don't have to push the J-35's, plus we gotta think about the KSA too, we send 1 sqs of fighter jets to KSA, we need to fill that gap. We should get more J-10CE's and maybe another 1-2 sq of JF17b3's.

Sorry are you saying China has not had enough time to work out the bugs and refine the j-35. I know In the US , it (F35s) in the US It takes years & years . I don’t think j35s is still in the development stage they had prototype that was seen a decade ago. . It’s probably combat ready. China has now moved on to 6th Generation

definitely we should increase the numbers of J10CP its a battlefield proven fighter

we cant have 100s of the J35AE

the backbone should be JF17 Block III and Block 1 and 2 should be upgraded to take the numbers to over 240 fighters

get 76 x J10CE for the middle tier and 40 x J35AE for the top tier

JF17 Block 3 can do the heavy lifting with SEAD/DEAD and anti shipping missiles

J10CE can do the air superiority missions

retire everything else

F35 baby killer is overrated

after 13 years still not managed a EMALS launch from Ford Class plus no radars APG-85 is still not ready and won't be anytime soon

China already ahead in this field J35 did the first launches already last year from 003

That's the best bet, we don't need 600 J35s immediately

The best thing to do would be to get 6-10, and then let pilots get accustomed, get out plans and training up and running, and get the strategy on how we we would use the planes correct.

Then we can wait, get our funds ready and when the Indians make their move we can place further orders

He does say PAF will induct "next gen platform" along with "additional J-10C and much upgraded JF-17," in this clip. The only next gen platform available at this stage is J-35.

PAF are adamant that they want a homegrown fighter they can play about with

This is probably with a view to induct their own homegrown weaponry.
Give them some independence
And if shit hits the fan give them a base to keep going if obtaining planes becomes difficult for whatever reason

The only question is what will PFX be, will it be just continued development of the platform into Block 4

Continued development with some changes like a new powerful engine, or RAM coating, avionics etc

Or a significant change to the platform that is 4.5+

And the question would be timeline, who will help us and what will be the cost


But whatever it is I think PAF is determined that we will go down this route
